pov: Charlie

''Hey Charlie.'' ''Hello Vaggie.'' ''I see you're cooking.'' ''Yes. A proper breakfast for all of us.'' ''And what are you making exactly?'' ''Pancakes, salad and sandwiches.'' ''A large selection.'' ''That's also the goal. Are the others awake yet?'' ''Angel and Husk are in the lobby and I saw Alastor on the stairs.'' ''And my father?'' ''I haven't seen him yet, but I'm sure he'll be here soon.'' ''I hope so. I want to show him my cooking skills.'' ''He'll be thrilled, my dear.'' ''I hope so. I had the impression that he was disappointed in me.'' ''Why is that?'' ''He wanted to do something with me yesterday but I turned him down...'' ''He'll be fine Charlie!'' shouted Alastor. ''Hello Alastor. Have you ever heard of not interfering?'' ''I overheard your conversation.'' ''Yes, yes. I don't believe you.'' ''Not so toxic Vaggie.'' Alastor rests his arm on Vaggie's head, which she doesn't like at all. ''I've looked at the seating area and I would change something there if I were you." ''And what? I think it's perfect!'' ''Maybe to the untrained eye, but there's something very obvious missing.'' ''And that would be?'' ''Some kind of occupation. A seating area isn't just for couples or friends, individuals could also sit there. It would look a bit uninviting if there wasn't at least something to read and a radio.'' ''But we don't have anything to read here.'' ''I'll take care of that later when I take a tour of the city. I do have a radio, but I won't set it up until you agree to it.'' ''That's not a bad idea. Do that Alastor.'' ''I will, but while I'm here, can I ask what you're doing?'' ''Of course. I'm cooking breakfast for everyone.'' ''Oh yes, so that's the smell in the lobby. Husker and Angel Dust won't be long in coming. For once, I'm going to eat with your.'' ''Really?! You usually eat in your room.'' ''I know, but why go back upstairs when there's food here?'' Alastor sits down at the table and watches me. He's probably waiting for me to make a mistake, but I try to ignore his stare. After a while, Husk and Angel arrive in the kitchen too. Now only Niffty and my father are missing. I set the table for everyone and put the finished meal on the table. ''Where's Niffty and your father Charlie?'' Husk asks. ''I don't know to be honest.'' ''Niffty's hunting bugs on the second floor,'' Alastor replies. ''And Lucifer?'' ''He's probably still in his room.'' ''How do you know, Alastor?'' ''Because I heard noises from his room, dear Husker.'' ''Would you get him, Alastor?'' I ask him. ''Is he my father or yours Charlie?'' ''Mine but I think I let him down. Please do it for me.'' ''Agreed but only if I can bring some deer meat downstairs.'' ''That's disgusting Alastor.'' ''Leave him Vaggie. Agreed but not a whole deer.'' ''Deal.'' Alastor stood up and disappeared into the shadows. ''Is this really a good idea Charlie? You know him.'' ''It'll be fine Husk.'' ''But why him?'' ''I want my father and him to get along.'' Husk just snorts and leaves it at that. Hopefully it will end well.

pov: Alastor

Why did I let myself be persuaded? I hate this guy. I should have asked for more for doing it. I turn up in his room and freeze. Yesterday I conjured away all the rubber ducks and now they're back in large quantities! What's wrong with him? I looked around and searched for the king of hell. Everywhere there was a free space he wasn't. Now I seriously have to dig through the rubber ducks. This is so humiliating. I quickly dig through the mountains of rubber ducks until I finally find the king. He startled and looked at me, sniffling. What a crybaby. ''What are you doing here Alastor!'' he shouted directly and glared at me angrily. ''Your daughter is waiting for you. I'm only here because she asked me to come and get you.'' ''Why doesn't she come and get me herself?'' ''Because she thinks you're disappointed in her.'' I immediately regret saying that. He started crying even harder and that's supposed to be the king of hell. What a wimp. I have to calm him down somehow. I can't come back downstairs without him. Then I had an idea. I grab his face and conjure up an artificial smile on his face. ''Smile, my dear. The smile is an important tool. It can irritate your enemies and make your friends believe something. Whoever smiles and hides the true emotions behind it will provoke. Use it more often even when you are angry or disappointed, always smile at the person, don't let them know what your true emotion is. That way you avoid a confrontation. Do it for Charlie.'' I decided to say the last one so that he would have a reason to smile more often and listen to what I told him. I left it up to him whether he would act on it. After all, he calmed down. ''You're right. I wanted to do more with my daughter so I should support her and not hide away in my room like in my palace!'' ''Please what?!'' ''Nothing!'' He left the room and went out. I snapped my fingers and made the rubber ducks disappear again before I left the room too. I took some more deer meat and went downstairs. Lucifer was already there and sat down opposite Charlie with a smile on his face. For the fact that he doesn't think cannibals should be tolerated, he listens to my advice very well. I sit down next to him, as that was the only seat available, and put down the plate of deer meat. I immediately notice Lucifer's disgusted expression. ''What? That was the deal between your daughter and me. Besides, you haven't even tasted deer meat yet.'' ''That doesn't change the fact that you're a cannibal.'' ''Let that be my business.'' ''Guys please don't fight at the dinner table. Oh and thanks Alastor.'' ''Always a pleasure Charlie.'' I took two sandwiches and spread the deer meat on both. When we were all done, everyone went back to work. As promised, I got something to read and put it on the table in the new sitting area along with a radio. Then I go to my radio tower to do another broadcast and drastically reduce Vox's ratings. This tin can will never be able to keep up with me! I also advertised the hotel from time to time. Tomorrow I'm going to visit Rosie again with Charlie, even though she's been with her recently. Then hopefully Charlie will believe me. Cannibals aren't really poor. They would be important guests of the hotel if we attract them. But without a cannibal menu it won't work. Charlie won't buy it, so let her hear it from Rosie herself. Tomorrow will be a wonderful day. I hope so.
