CHAPTER 2
☀️ Ana ☀️

"So. First of all, tomorrow, I'll make you visit a few classes, and Mount Drako. There, if you want to, I'll also show you my drago inn !" said Ana to her future classmate

"Your dragon ?!"

"Well, yeah. This place isn't called the Draconic Academy of Drarka for nothing."

"I guess so but...I didn't think you would have, like, a dragon that you own."

Ana bursted in laughter.

"You'll have one too you know ! And, you don't own a dragon. Your dragon is like a sibling. Like a close friend. Your dragon isn't your pet, it's your companion for life. By exemple, you see, if my dragon die, I'll die with her."

Keira looked really surprised. And also kinda guilty. She didn't seem to understand everything.

"Is it...like, do you have a "mental link" that makes you die when the other does ?" asked the browned haired girl, completely lost.

Ana laughed again.

"We do have a "mental link". But not like that. It's like..." she sighed "I don't really know how to explain it...but... it's like, we can, feel, each other's feelings and emotions. Like, if one of us feels in danger, the other immediately knows it."

"Wow...it's...pretty cool." she answered, amazed "But, then, why would you die if she did ?"

"I told you. She's like my sister. My best and most loyal friend. I couldn't live without her."

Keira nodded.

She doesn't seem to know how to answer that... Told Ana to herself.

"So !" she said to fill in the blank that had set in "Hum... Classes will start in a week so you'll have time to get ready and used to the place. I think they'll test you to know if you're Kelsar* or not, and they'll probably give me the task of finding you a dragon !"

"Why would they ask you to do that ?"

"Well, I'm the best student here. And also one of the most ancient. The other one being my brother (since we arrived at the same time), it'll necessarily be me."

"Oh. And why not your brother."

She sighed.

"You'll probably have the opportunity to find that out by yourself."

"And why don't they do it themselves ? The teachers I mean."

She shrugged back.

"They're busy with preparing the start of classes and the Performance."

"Oh yeah I've heard about that. When the royal families and a bunch of noble people come to see the Kelsar of the Academy use their powers and ride their dragons."

Ana nodded, smiling. She literally couldn't wait for it. It was one of her favourite times of the year.

"You seem excited about it !" said Keira, contaminated by Ana's joy and smile.

She laughed back at this, and they continued to talk for at least an hour.

They were still talking when the bell rang.

"It's for the dinner." explained Ana to her new friend, who was asking with her eyes. "The first one. We have ten minutes to get ready."

The black haired girl was watching her friend's face decaying, she sighed and asked :

"You didn't bring anything else to wear, right ?"

"I thought we would only need our uniform !!!"

They both laughed, and Ana got up and started walking to her closet.

"Don't worry I must have something that would suit you."

She started looking in it, and got a few dresses out. A gold and white one for her, and a dark blue, a red, and a purple dress for Keira. As she was giving the three last dresses to the brown haired girl, she told her :

"Here. Try the three of them and take the one you think suits you better. I'll be getting dressed in the bathroom if you need me. And hurry we don't have that much of time."

"Alright thank you."

Ana closed the bathroom's door, and got dressed pretty fastly, thank to the habit. As she was lacing her boots, she told herself that, in fact, Keira probably wouldn't have enough time to try all three dresses. She walked out of the room, only to find Keira trying to lace the purple dress. She sighed and sat next to her, lacing it to be faster.

A few seconds later, it was already done. Keira had already laced her boots, making the both of the ready.

"Okay we kinda need to hurry." said Ana as the second bell was ringing.

The two girls bursted out of the room, running down the stairs and in the hallway. When they finally got to the doors of the dining room, they were both out of breath, but not late. They joined the crowd of students and got to a table. As they were sitting on a bench next to each other, Jason, Ana's brother let himself fall next to them, having a deep releasing breathe. Ana turned her face to him, with a killer gaze.

"Wow." he laughed "What gives me the pleasure of this deadly gaze ?"

"What do you want ?" she said dryly, ignoring his question.

"Can't I just spend time with my sweet little sister ?"

As he saw that the look on his sister's face was still so serious, he just sighed.

"Alright alright. Can I please borrow your astronomy book ?"

"No."

"What ? But, why ??"

"Because, the last time you borrowed it, you lost it."

Jason sighed, knowing there was no way he could convince her to change her mind, and the rest of the dinner passed with noone talking anymore.

When everyone was done eating, the teachers simply told the students that the dinner was over and everyone got up. Jason stayed next to Keira and Ana, using his usual "I-won't-go-until-I-got-what-I-want" technic.

"I'm not giving you my book", said his sister without even laying her eyes on him.

"Please Ana! Sir Kykon will kill me!" he begged.

Ana stopped and looked at him, annoyed by her brother, and his habit of always losing his things and then begging her to borrow hers to also lose them in the end.

"Well, maybe you should stop losing your things? How does that sound?"

He sighed, kinda giving up on all this since she really looked deeply annoyed and mad at him.

"Fine! I'll just ask someone else. Someone kinder than you!"

"Yeah yeah that's it", answered Ana, as she had already started moving again, grabbing Keira's arm to drag her all the way to their shared room.

When they arrived, Ana immediately closed the door behind them and fell on her bed with a breath of relief. After a few seconds (probably a minute) of silence, she sat, staring at Keira, who seemed lost in her thoughts and was looking at the floor.

"So. Are you excited about tomorrow?"

Ana's words "woke her up" as she raised her head in her direction.

"Huh? Oh yeah of course! I really hope you will show me Starsinger!"

Her friend chuckled softly.

"I will, I will. About that, we should sleep early. You already had a hard day, and we will probably walk to the top of Mount Drako, so...we'll need rest!" said Ana with enthusiasm.

Keira nodded, and the black haired helped her a little with her bed. She then blew almost all the candles lighting the room, except two, and closed the curtains. She brought one candle to the brown haired, before going back to her bed, putting the other candle on the small table next to it, and blew it up at the same moment as Keira did with hers.
