Acceptance

House Of Malfords ( Arcan's bedroom )

Arcan opened his eyes to find himself in his room. " That's odd, I remember getting stabbed. ", he said while getting up. " Thank God, you have regained consciousness. We were worried sick. ", replied Fedrich who was sitting on a chair by the side. " How are Archie and Aiden ? ", asked Arcan. " We tried contacting their families but got no response in return. " , answered Lynia. Arcan rose from bed and proceeded to leave. Fedrich caught him from behind. " I cannot allow you to leave in such condition. ", said Fedrich. " My friends are in dire need of help. I need to free them. ", replied Arcan. "  Do you think someone abducted you all during the get-together ? ", asked Lynia. " Hold on, let me ask them about it. ", said Fedrich. He called upon the two men. " Tell me, did you find a girl and a boy in the place you found my son ? ", asked Fedrich. " We found your son unconscious in Yurben's household. Two more people were with him. They have been rescued. There is no need for worries. " , asnwered Berc, one of the men. " Yurben ? the Neryon household ? ", replied Fedrich, as sweat dropped from his forehead. " Do you know him dad ? ", asked Arcan. After a long silence, he answered, " No, I am just happy that you are safe. ". " Sir Malford, esteemed former mage, I ask of you to lend Arcan to us . We assure you your son would turn out to be an excellent mage. " , said Kazan. Fedrich was raged. He shouted, " Begone. Don't dare enter our house ever again. ". The two men left in a jiffy. " Mages? what are the secrets of your past dad ? ", asked Arcan. " Go to bed now. Your mother shall prepare vegetable broth for you. ", answered Fedrich skipping the question.

Outside Malford's Residence

" It's certain brother will join the university. He will be enlightened of his lineage there. ", said Berc. " Father has plans for him. ", replied Kazan. They changed into their angelic forms and flew off.

Malford's House

" How long do you intend to keep your past hidden from your son? Today he is quiet but someday he will start questioning. ", said Lynia. " All I want is my son to lead a normal life. The Mage union is corrupted. All of them have fallen prey to selfish desires and motives. After I married you, I left my status as a mage and went into hiding. I will do everything to protect you and Arcan. ", replied Fedrich. " Have you ever thought of the possibility that an attack might happen where we may lose our lives ? ", asked Lynia. " You mean, this encounter has lead them to know our location, I get it. We will move out. ", answered Fedrich. " It's pointless to run. They know about our son. We can't lose him. If he gets strong, he can defend himself. ", replied Lynia. After musing over his wife's words, Fedrich spoke, " We will die someday, Till the time we are here, I will guide Arcan. ". 

Dining Hall

" Son, today I will be true and honest with my words. You need to know about the Mage union and how it has changed over the years. ", said Fedrich. " Is it because of the two men who came in this forenoon ? ", asked Arcan. Fedrich remained silent on that question. " As you already are aware that I am a former mage. Mages are humans tasked with guiding humanity towards the divine and attain salvation. They associate themselves with the church in order to spread God's will to people. Making pacts with angels benefits them. ", he said. " Angels ? how are they able to communicate or make pacts with them ? ", asked Arcan. " Summoning rituals are performed. Mages are not brought in the eyes of the common masses. They assist the church from the shadows. Unfortunately, in the present years, the church has deviated from the objective. They now rush towards selfish interests and desires. During my time, I found it were the very mages that started corrupting the church. All my beliefs were destroyed, hence I gave up my status and went into hiding. Today, my past has confronted me again. ", Fedrich added. " Believe me, if the lives of my parents are at stake here, I will become a mage and defend them with all my life. ", replied Arcan. " Such wise words, remember to keep such an attitude. Promise me son, after you have completed your studies, you will return to us and not join the church. ", said Fedrich. " I promise, I will return. ", replied Arcan. " Stay safe there, Arcan. ", said Lynia, looking worried. " Don't worry Mother, your son will be fine. ", replied Arcan. " Well then, you will leave tomorrow at sunrise. ", informed Fedrich.

Morning ( 6:25 am )

No sooner did Arcan open the door than the two men greeted him. " If anything happens to my son, during his stay, it will not end well for you all. ", warned Fedrich. " We promise, no harm will befall your son. ", replied Kazan. " I haven't introduced myself, my name is Arcan Malford. ", said Arcan. " How sweet of you, my name is Berc Smith and my companion's name is Kazan Evans. ", replied Berc. They left for the designated place at once.

Paragon University

" Arcan, you stand before Paragon University, a place where the divine and mortals unite. ", said Kazan.
