Chapter 1: Welcome to Auradon

The stormy waves crashed against the sides of the ship. I dragged my luggage across the deck and into the cabin. 

"ALright, that's the last of it." I said to my best friend, Alexander Hamilton. Alex ran over and gave me a high five. We were on a boat going to Auradon for the new Auradon America exchange student program. A fancy man piloted the ship, so all we had to do was sit back and relax as we rode to our new lives. 

"I wonder what it's like in auradon." Alex pondered. 

"I heard that its really safe. they have a great law enforcement system." I said. 

America was safe enough, but there were too many taxes. It was great to have an escape, even if it was only for a year. Me and Ale were seniors in high school, so even if we wanted to keep going to auradon prep, we would be graduated and probably have to go back to the American colonies. 

"Hey Alex, lets see who else is going to auradon with us. it would be good to have another american friend their." I said to Alex. 

"Ok, great idea." he said. 

We went down to the cabin and saw a girl sitting on a cot, brushing her long dark hair. her eyes sparkled like golden belt buckles, and she had all of her teeth. She was gorgeous. 

"H-hello" Alex stuttered. He must think she was beautiful, too. 

"Hi, are you another exchange student?" I asked. 

"Yes" she said "I think its just the three of us going to auradon. I amErica." 

I smiled. "I'm George, and that's Alex" 

Alex waved. 

"It's nice to meet you guys. I thought I would have to go to auradon without knowing anyone." Erica says. We continue talking about what we think auradon will be like. We're all sper excited.

In the middle of our conversation, we hear a boat horn. The three of us rush up to the deck. 

"What's going on?" I ask a crewmate. 

"We're passing the boat of auradon kids going to AMerica." He says. We al go over to the side of the boat and see another almost identical boat going the other way. 

Four kids are on the deck of the other boat. Theres Jane, Chad, and Lonnie. I presume. I don't really know their names. We wave to them happily and they wave back. They look really rich and have strange outfits. I don't know if they'll fit in well in Colonial America. I also realize that we might not fit in well in Auradon. 

But I have lead armies, and I plan to lead more. I've been told that I'm a natural born leader. I will conquer Auradon and make it a free country. (Thats just a saying though. I don't actually intend to conquer Auradon. at least not until I'm 30!)

I am basking in my pride when Alex taps me on my blue wool coated shoulder. 

"Hey George. We're here." He says

I look ahead and see Auradon port. There are so many colors I can't even name. The whole world is shimmering pink and blue. I hear trumpets announcing our arrival. 

"Hear ye hear ye! The American exchange students from the American Colonies!" says a trumpet playing kid with glasses. His name is doug. I presume. 

"Greetings Auradon!" I say with my booming leaderly voice and wooden teeth. "I am George Washington of the American Colonies. This is Alexander Hamilton and Erica Flagg. It's a pleasure to be living in this country for the next year!" 

Everyone claps and a 16-ish looking boy with brown hair walks up. I go over to him and shake his hand. 

"Greetings, Prince Ben. It's a pleasure to make yor acquaintance." I smile. He looks befuddled.

"Do you get Auradon news in America?" he asks. It's a bit rude that he didn't return my greeting, but I don't mind. I'm flexible.

"No, sir prince." I respond as regally as I can.

"Then how did you know my name?" He ponders.

"I was just guessing." He looks a bit afflicted by this, but it doesn't take him long to recover.

"Well in that case, George, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, too. Welcome to Auradon"
