Remus Lupin was sitting in the train car at the back of the scarlet train that goes to Hogwarts, reading the outsiders. His honey curls falling in a gracefully messy heap on his head.
His grandpa sweater hanging lose on his body. He had a cigarette tucked behind his ear, and was nibbling on a piece of chocolate with his feet in those stupid brown Converse up on the seat.
Sirius just watched him for a moment, a small smile on his face, before James Potter came bursting into the car.
"Hello boys! Who's excited for our last year?" James's signature smile lit up the car, and Remus, well Remus was too stuck in his own world to notice anyone in the car with him.
"Moony?" Sirius nudged him gently.
Remus looked up at Sirius, smiling slightly. "Padfoot." the way he said it made Sirius's heart flutter.
Remus looked over to see James, a knowing smirk aimed at Sirius. "Prongs." his voice is polite, mostly trying not to be annoyed that his reading was interrupted. Peter Petigrew walks in, closing the door behind him and using a silencing charm so that their conversation was private.
"Hey boys! I didn't miss anything did I?" Peter sits next to James.
"Not really. Just James being the usual smug bastard he is." Remus looked back down at his book, continuing to read.
"So, any goals for this year boys?" Sirius didn't usually ask this, but this time he did.
"I don't really have any. Probably same as last year. Pass all my classes." Remus says without looking up from his book.
"Uhm.... Probably make some big confession at some point. Not sure what yet." Sirius settles in next to Remus, sitting incorrectly in proper queer fashion, his leather doc Marten's up on the seat.
"I want to propose to marry." Peter blurts, his face flushing
"I'm probably going to ask Evans out. On an actual date." James is looking out the window.
