there were no stars in the sky

Its been a few months and I looked up to the sky

But it was empty when I did

There were no stars in the sky

And there were no stars because we were too busy climbing on them

We were too busy having fun to ever notice them gone

We didn't need to notice, we had better things to do

And there were no stars because you took them all when

You took them all away with you, I haven't seen one since

Its like they faded alongside you

And there were no stars because we were the stars

Flamboyant, theater kids, who liked musicals

        We had that in common

And there were no stars in the sky so I had to learn what it was like without them

I learned to tolerate empty, and learned to find the beauty in the empty sky itself

I learned to see how pretty the whole sky was instead of just the stars

And there were no stars, but I learned to love the sky without them, how to live without them

And then there was a star in the sky again

And I learned to love all of the sky and the stars together

And suddenly the world didn't seem as bad as it did before

PS: I still talk about you like you're still
