Autumn was displeased with Mia's knowledge, something Autumn believed only she should know. Mia's teasing about Autumn's crush bothered her even more. Autumn had hoped nobody, not even her father, discovered that secret page.

Those hopes shattered when Mia confronted her, mocking her about it. In the past, Mia wasn't so unkind; Autumn admired her kind heart and caring eyes that could coax a blush from Autumn's cheeks.

Once upon a time, Autumn had fallen for the girl who was her older brother's best friend — now, an ex-girlfriend, the one who had always shielded and stood up for her. Those days felt like a distant memory now.

As Mia exited the office, heading towards Charlotte, Winter walked in.

"My Darling, is everything alright?" Winter's voice was soft, carrying a warmth that melted Autumn's lingering tension.

Autumn nodded, offering him a faint smile. "Yes, just a minor annoyance. Nothing I can't handle my sweet."

Winter approached her, his hand reaching out to gently brush her cheek. "You know you can talk to me about anything, right? I'm here for you, always."

His words were a balm to her troubled thoughts. Autumn leaned into his touch, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her. "I know, Winter. Thank you."

He smiled, his gaze filled with understanding. "Why don't we take a break and grab some coffee? We can talk or just enjoy each other's company."

Autumn's heart swelled with gratitude for having someone like Winter in her life. "That sounds perfect."

Together, they left the office behind, stepping into the quiet serenity of the nearby cafe. As they sat down with their steaming cups of coffee, Autumn felt a sense of peace settle over her. With Winter by her side, she knew she could face anything that came her way.
