"Hollis! Hollis! You need to get up now!" I open my eyes confused, "Hollis hurry! We have to go now!"
I sit up and see my mother, "What are you doing just sitting there hurry! We have to go now!" My mom starts tugging on my arm.
"What's going on?" I ask sliding out of the bed, "There here. Now let's go. You can leave your stuff behind."
We speed walk out the room. As we walk out I see the other mind readers looking frantic. Some running down the hall, others standing in one spot not knowing what to do.
I start hearing people's thoughts. I guess since everyone's panicking they aren't keeping their wall up. The thoughts give me hints on what's happening. The last thought
What are we gonna do?
How did they get here?
Where's Hollis?
The last thought got my attention. It sounded like Luke, it probably was just my father. With all these other thoughts going everyone it's hard to know who's is who's.
So the "government" has found us?How? And why did they show up right when I got here? This is making me wish I was still back in New York.
My mother pulls me down the hallway. I see my father standing with David. Both of them looking panicked, "What are you guys still doing here? You need to leave now!" David tells us.
"Where are we suppose to go? They're surrounding the whole building!" My mother tells, "Get everyone and take the tunnel." My mom lets a sigh.
"Do you really think they'd be stupid enough to to not block it." David puts rubs his eyes and let's out a sigh, "So what the hell out we suppose to do!" My father finally speaks up.
"I don't know! Okay!" So are we just gonna sit here and wait for them to get us? "I know what we can do." I turn around to find Luke standing there.
"Hollis." I was confused. Does he think I can do something? "I bet she can put up a barrier." I laughed. I've barely know how to use my powers as it is. But for him to think I could do that was hilarious. "I'm not joking you co-"
"Everyone down!" I look past Luke. They made it in, "Everyone down!" I looked around me, everyone was down even my parents. I look back up to the men. "You! Get down!" Why am I not laying down like everyone else.
"Get down!" My mother yells at me. I stood there still in shock. My mind was telling me to get down but my legs wouldn't budge.
I heard the gunfire. Then a scream from my mom. I look down. I see a bloody circle. I fall to the ground holding my wound. My eyes are closed, I open them and see a bright light.
I hear a faint "Hollis" I blink my eyes a little bit. I turn my head to the side I see a familiar chair.
Confused I sit up. I rub my eyes then look around the room. I was in my room. "Hollis hurry and get up or you'll be late."
Was it a dream? So the PAF are still bad? Did that Luke boy really come to our school.
I got up from my bed and did my usual morning routine. Except this time I didn't put any makeup on or really put any effort into my outfit. I guess the dream just messed me up.
On the drive to school I was silent. I usually am but today I was more than usual. "Are you ok?" My sister looks over at me then looks back to the road, "Yea just had a weird dream." I answer truthfully.
"Did it ever cross your mind that the PAF aren't bad, that maybe are parents are enjoying themselves?" My sister looks shocked for a second.
"Hollis are you okay? Maybe that dreams was little more than weird." She laughs. She doesn't say anything else about it. She was right it was just a dream it can't be true.
I arrive at school and sit in my normal seat. Most of the class was sitting down by now. I turn around and look to see if Luke wasn't apart of the dream. He wasn't there. It was kind of upsetting Not really, it was only just a dream.
The teacher finally comes in but with someone. All eyes go to the front. My mouth hangs down. Its Luke. At least I think it is. He has the same face and hair and body but he's in much darker clothes and if I look closely a lip piercing. I can also see a tattoo peeking out from his shirt.
Many thoughts start coming to me but they're a little different then they were form the dream.
Ew, he looks gothic.
He kinda cute but he has tattoo.
Damn I thought we'd finally have a hot guy.
He seems dangerous.
He looks over to me but this time he just gives me a glare. I think I like the other Luke better. But there is something interesting about him. Although it weird that the same boy but a little bit different would be here.
"Okay class this is our new student..." If he says Luke I'm gonna mentally freak, "Luke."
Luke walks back but instead of the back seat he seat right next to me. Just in case I put up my wall. I look over to him he has a blank expression on his face. I suddenly start hearing his thought.
Why is the bitch looking at me.
Why are all these damn people looking at me.
Did he just call me a bitch? Wow. I've heard some cruel thoughts but i never did anything to him, why does he have to be so rude. Well he didn't say it to my face.
I start to remember the dream, the last Luke used fake thoughts. What if this Luke was to. Damn, I need to stop thinking about that stupid dream, it wasn't real.
I need to see if he gives off any hint that he's a mind reader. Ugh why am I being so paranoid. I try and think how I could think fake thoughts. Maybe if I put a wall up over my real thoughts an then just think stupid stuff. Okay here it goes.
Luke's Pov
I need to hurry and get this over with. I was already forced here so I need to what I have to do and do it.
Oh he's so cute!
Maybe he'll talk to me!
What the hell? Who is that? All the thoughts I have heard don't sound anything like that.
I look over to Hollis. She was already looking at me. She turns away blushing.
She's faking. I didn't think she'd know how to but there is know way that's what she's thinking.
Oh shit.
I know what she's doing. She tricked me. There's no way she'll come with me now. But why would she even think I was a Mind Reader?
Why did I ever agree to this. They should have asked someone else. I guess I'll just have to get on her good side.
Hollis Pov
I was sitting next to Julie at lunch, the dream still on my mind and how I know that Luke's a mind reader. Julie was blabbering about some new car she'll be getting. I picked at my food rolling my eyes after everything she said.
I looked and saw Luke standing in the middle. He looked over at me and started walking in my direction. Oh god please don't tell me he's gonna sit next to me.
He sat in the empty seat right next to me. Why do I always have an empty seat next to me, "Ohemg, I'm sorry but this table isn't for new losers like you." Julie's spits.
"Oh so the table is for bitches and skanks." He fires back. Everyone was shocked. No one ever talked back to Julie.
Maybe he was better than I thought.
