"What is this thing?" Casey asked, as the seven of them raced down the streets of New York in the Turtle Tank.

"Hold onto your gluteus maxmi!" Donnie told everyone.

"And your head, Dee's driving is dangerous most times," Vee added, earning a scowl from Donnie. "Scoff!" He replied.

"The Turtle Tank, baby!" Mikey told Casey. "It's how we roll in the past." "You mean the present," Ellie corrected him. "You mean the... time travel's confusing," Cairo said, confusing himself.

Donnie looked at the screen on the dashboard. "They're on the move. According to the subcutaneous tracker, I put on Raph—"

"Wait, does that mean you put trackers on all of us?" Leo asked him, skeptical.

"No? No... of course I did... n't," Donnie lied. "Based on their trajectory, they're headed—"

"To the tallest building in the city," Casey finished. "The Metro Tower?" Ellie asked.

"That's right," Donnie answered. "Metro Tower."

"I heard the story so many times as a kid, but I never thought..." Casey said. "And behold, from their perch atop New York City, the Krang ripped open the sky itself. What came out was terror,  and what rained down upon us was worse than death."

"They told that to kids??" Mikey asked, horrified. "Man, the future is harsh."

"Tell me about it," Vee said as Cairo shuddered.

"Well, I'm not gonna let that happen," Leo said. "We need to get into Metro Tower without being spotted? We'll take the subway tunnels."

"Subway tunnels don't offer much in a way of an escape if we need it," Donnie pointed out.

"Are you sure about this?" Vee asked her brother.

"Yeah, maybe we should go—" Ellie tried.

"Guys, we're doing it my way. Remember?" Leo interrupted. "Subway tunnels it is," Cairo said.

~TIMESKIP~

"See? Smooth sailing. We'll have Raph in no time," Leo said when they got down there.

"I hope he's okay," Ellie said, worried. "How are we gonna find him once we get there?" Mikey asked.

"I have a lot of questions regarding 'once we get there'," Donnie said.

"Save them for later, Dee," Vee told him.

"Relax, guys. We'll do what we always do," Leo told the team.

"And that is?" Cairo asked.

"Ninja in, ninja their faces, ninja out."

"That's exactly how you freed all those families from the Kraang labor camp!" Casey recalled.

"Yeah, that sounds like me," Leo said smugly.

"Of course it does," Vee sarcastically rolled her eyes, a bit jealous.

"In the future, you guys are beyond amazing. The mystic powers you're able to harness from within are on a whole other level!" Casey told them.

"Of course! How have we not asked about my future?" Donnie felt stupid all of a sudden. "Don't let me down! I'm expecting big things from me. How many Nobel prizes do I have? No, don't tell me. I wanna be surprised!"

"Donnie, you were the most brilliant innovative mind of all time!"

"Unshocked, I am. Go on, continue to meet my expectations," Donnie smirked.

"What about me?" Vee asked him. "You brought down an entire Kraang squadron with Telekinesis and one tessen!" Casey told her, still amazed at the memory.
