"Wanheda: Part One"
season 03, episode 01It was strange since mount weather. Things appeared to be back to normal, whatever normal was, but that was far from the truth. The truth being, most had been grieving the loss of someone important. Berlin Kane, daughter of Marcus Kane, was dead.
Raven had been diving into her work. She had been spending all her time helping in the department she was best in so that she didn't have to face the truth. She was angry, angry that she and Berlin weren't on good terms when she died, angry that she couldn't even remember the last thing that Berlin even said to her.
Marcus, however, all he'd been doing was replaying the words that she said to him before she died. She had admitted to forgiving him for his past sins and part of him felt like he didn't deserve her forgiveness but he was happy that she gave it. Marcus felt like he just got his daughter back and now he lost her forever. He lost so much time with her out of anger and fear, he was scared that he was gonna lose her so he distanced himself from her on the ark, not realizing that he would lose her later on.
Octavia struggled a lot. Lincoln tried to be there for her but she shut everyone out. She would train by herself or sometimes with Thalia, the grounder never forcing her to talk about it but instead just letting her take her emotions out. Berlin wasn't just Octavia's cellmate on the ark, she was her best friend, her confidant and her sister. There was nothing that Berlin didn't know about her and vice versa.
Thalia and Lincoln stayed with the skaikru at their camp. Although, the two grounders didn't know the girl that well, they both felt the guilt because of what Lexa did. Guilt weighed heavily on Thalia. All her people had gotten out safely and some of the sky people didn't make it out at all. The alliance was supposed to get everyone out and that didn't happen. Thalia didn't even know how to talk to Lexa, she was...disappointed in her sisters actions.
The one that took it the hardest was Bellamy...he never spoke to anyone about Berlin the morning after she died and they returned to camp. Marcus tried to get to him a couple times but he refused to listen or even talk about her. Everyone just assumed that he was in denial but he wasn't. He knew the truth, he knew that Berlin wasn't coming back to him. Bellamy often went to the drop ship, it was where he met her, and even the caves. He relived the moment that she told him the truth about who she was and when she let him take off her wristband.
Bellamy felt like he had been reliving every moment with her that he ever had. The good and the bad. To say that he was not okay, was the biggest understatement there could be. Bellamy never knew how much being in love with someone could make you feel so empty when their gone. How everyday that goes by, you're thinking about them, expecting them to just walk up with those big brown eyes and the corner of their lips curving into a smile as they look up at you.
Bellamy didn't sleep too well. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her...in that room. Her lifeless body on the chair, covered in blood and dried tears on her cheeks. The sight haunted him every night. That image was trying to replace his memory of her but he refused to let it.
