THE RUNAWAY

CHAPTER 3

Chloe's POV

It's the morning after Kiara came over. She and I slept in my bed and Kaylee slept on my couch in my room. I didn't want her to feel lonely.

I was the first one up so I went downstairs and made me something to eat. I ate and brought the rest of the food to my room for Kaylee and Kiara.

When I walked in my room Kiara wasn't in bed. I knocked on the bathroom door and i heard her soft morning voice say "who is it?"

"It's me, Chloe. I brought breakfast." I said, walking back to the bed. She walked out of the bathroom and sat on the bed next to me. She grabbed some of the food and started eating. I got up and walked over to Kaylee, who was still sleeping.

I pulled her blanket off of her and screamed, "wake the fuck up!" I heard Kiara laugh as she was eating. "What the hell chloe?"

"Get up! It's 10:00am." I said throwing her blanket at her. "Okay? And? I don't have anywhere to be!" She rolled over and went back to sleep. "Don't forget we have a game today!" I walked back over to the bed and sat next to Kiara. I didn't make much for breakfast so she was done.

I took kaylees breakfast and the dirty dishes to the kitchen and Kiara followed behind me "I could have gotten it myself. You don't have to do everything."

"You're my guest. You shouldn't have to." I replied as I walked over to her. "Whatever."

"What do you wanna do today?" I asked as I jumped up into the counter. "I don't know. I'm fine with anything." She said. "Omg let's go to the library!" I said smiling.

"No offense but not everyone is a book nerd Chloe." I heard Kaylee say as she walked downstairs. "I see you didn't sleep long." I said as she got her food.

"Well thanks to you I couldn't go back to sleep and I have to go home and get some stuff for the game today." She gave me the finger and walked away.

"I'm down to go to the library by the way." Kiara said circling back to our conversation. "Yay!" I got off the counter and ran to my room. We got ready and we went to the library.

"So what kind of books are you into?" Kiara asked from behind me. "Mostly romance and horror." I replied turning around. We were face to face, the aisle was kind small so we were close. I could feel her breath on my skin.

She backed away as much as she could "umm.. t-thats cool." I didn't say anything else the whole time I just turned around and continued to look for a book.

After we left the library we went to kaylees house and she wanted to get ice cream so we went to the ice cream shop down the street.

"Kaylee, you know Brady?" Kiara asked. "Yeah, we were partners for an English assignment. Why?"

"He likes you. He wanted me to ask you for your number one day at lunch but I never got around to it." She said and Kaylee put her hand over her mouth. "Omg for real?"

"Yea." Kaylee put her number in Kiara's phone and Kiara sent it to Brady.

Kaylee went home so it was just me and Kiara at my house. We were sitting in bed when my sister walked in. She was crying. "What happened?" I asked as I hugged her.

"Dad." She said, and that's all she had to say. Dad always yells at Wheezie, she doesn't do anything but he doesn't care. He even grads her sometimes (not in a sexual way) he gets so angry and takes it out on us.

"Can I sleep with you tonight?" She asks, I looked over at Kiara. "Kiara is sleeping in my bed to-"

"No, let her I'll sleep on the couch." She said cutting me off. "Okay."

Me and Kaylee were in the locker room with the rest of the team and Kaylee was doing my hair. "Girls! This is an important game. If we lose we will lose our streak." We've won all of our games this year and this is our last one.

After a few minutes we were all on the field. The game was going great until someone shoved me, I fell down and they stepped on my leg. I yelled in pain and couch brought me to the bench. "Are you okay?" I heard a soft voice from behind me. I looked back and it was Kiara. "No I think it's broken." I had tears coming down my cheeks.

"I'll take her home." Kiara said and we left the game. I didn't get to talk to anyone. What if we lose? Me and Kiara were in her car, "hey what's on your mind?" She asked.

"What if it's broken?" I started crying again. "Let's hope it's not." She had one hand on the wheel and used her other hand to cross her fingers.

We went to the hospital and they said that it wasn't broken but I probably won't be able to play soccer for a while. They gave me crutches and pain medication and then Kiara drove me home.

That night Wheezie slept in my bed. She was asleep before me and Kiara so we sat up and watched a movie. We were on the couch watching it on my laptop so we didn't wake up Wheezie but I kept falling asleep.

The next morning I woke and I was facing her with my arm wrapped around her waist and her arm wrapped around my neck. I was laying on her chest, she smells so good.

I tried to get up without waking her up but I failed. "Where you going?" I heard her ask. "Oh.. uh sorry for falling asleep on you. I Didn't mean to make it weird."

"I asked where you were going not why." She said chuckling. "You didn't make it weird, I slept great." She laughed.

"Now lay back down and go back to sleep it's only 5:00am." She said holding her arms back out for me to lay down.

I lied down and she played in my hair. I could hear her heart beat as it slowed down. We both went back to sleep.
