He slouched onto the ground, completely void of where he was. He didn't care. He was supposed to be dead. He had made sure of it, by stabbing himself 100 times. Yet he wasn't. He was still here, alive and well.

He couldn't breathe properly. He started hyperventilating horribly.

He couldn't go through this again. One life was enough for him. No matter how hard he tried to stop the tears, they wouldn't kept coming out. However, he managed to sob quietly so wherever he was, he wouldn't wake anyone sleeping. He sobbed into his hands, overwhelmed by a nauseating feeling. He felt like he was suffocating, like he couldn't breathe. He was trembling so much, and he felt so cold and yet so warm, it felt so uncomfortable.

Wei Wuxian never had panic attacks that often, but if he did, you'd never forget them. It was a guarantee.

Simply put; They were terrible.

Often, he would end up gagging and choking on his tears, because they tend to come out in big clots, because how often he held back his own tears. Shockingly enough, holding in tears for 20 years of your life, doesn't do your tear ducts good.

Only then when he calmed down, did he notice the surroundings. He was outside of cloud recesses. Being the intelligent man he was, he had put together what happened. Once he died, a lash back of resentful energy had sent him back to the past. Or more specifically, right before he met Lan Wangji.

Wei Wuxian felt an immense wave of guilt and discomfort come over him, as he had realized that Lan Wangji had witnessed the extremely gorey scene of him suiciding. He felt tears pricking at his eyes as he remembered the look that Lan Wangji gave him before he passed. It was full of despair, regret, and... somewhat longingness.

Wei Wuxian sighed, still slightly shaking. He brushed himself off and put on his play for the audience, a puppet being pulled on strings by the string-master.

He hopped over the wall in silence, making his way towards his room.

..

"Wei Ying." A voice said.

He froze, and turned around. While quickly putting a smile on his face.

"Yeeeeesss?~" He grinned.

The figure in white said nothing, but Wei Wuxian felt like something was wrong.

"...I saw you. In the grass." The white figure finally said.

Wei Wuxians smile faltered, "Ah.. Don't mind that, Lan Zhan! I was testing out my acting skills, you see! I need to make Madame Yu believe my sob stories! Like she ever would." Wei Wuxian mumbled the last part

"Lying is prohibited in cloud recesses." Lan Wangji cut in, slowly making his way towards the figure in black.

"Ahahaha! That is where you're wrong, Lan Zhan! I am not lying at all." Wei Wuxian backed up, eyes narrowing.

"I heard you muttering things.. You- You came back too, didn't you?.." Lan Wangji sharply inhaled, looking at Wei Wuxian straight in his eyes. Golden eyes staring into grey eyes, grey eyes staring into golden eyes.

Wei Wuxians eyes widened alarmingly.

"No. I-I don't know what you're talking about, Lan Zhan! Did you drink any wine!? Are you drunk?!" Wei Wuxian brushed it off.

"Oh ho! Would you look at the time! It is curfew! I should get back to my sleeping quarters! Good night!" Wei Wuxian hurriedly made his way to his room, emperors smile in hand still.
