jeon jungkook, a teacher feared by most, if not all, for his intimidating and merciless demeanor.

park jimin, an innocent student in his english literature class, currently failing miserably.

(or: when jimin thinks there's nothing more worse than failing a subject taught by the head teacher of his school, he lands himself in his office after hours. for what he thinks is private tutoring, turns out to be something he bites off more than he can chew.)

class dismissed."

the second the dismissal is spoken, students file to quickly exit the classroom. everyone packs up, and is crowding to leave, everyone except- "park jimin."

he winces at the acknowledgement.

"stay behind."

jimin's head hangs in shame. he already knows what this is about.

failing a subject is terrible in itself, with embarrassment and shame fueling his heart's entirety, however, he thinks there's nothing more worse than failing a subject taught by the head teacher of his school. the same head teacher who also happens to teach the senior english literature class, jimin's english literature class.

jeon jungkook - a teacher feared by most, if not all, for his intimidating and merciless demeanor. renowned for firing staff without so much so as a second glance, failing students over the smallest mistakes, making them cry uncontrollably and plead for leniency, and remaining firm in his punishments of disobedience.

jimin approaches his desk at the front of the room.

"yes, seonsaengnim?"

jungkook glares at jimin, then at the seat situated in front of his desk. "sit." he dictates, to which the student does so, folding his hands on his lap. "we need to talk about your grades."

"w-what?"

jungkook cocks up an eyebrow. places his arms on the dark oak table dividing the two. then, pushes a file forward. "jimin-ssi." he deadpans, "you've been failing my class for the entire year. your highest grade is a c minus as opposed to your other subjects."

"seonsaengnim," jimin says, oddly steady with how the urge to burst out crying overcomes him completely, "i-i know, and i'm really-"

"i don't want to hear your excuses." jungkook straightaway interrupts, voice laced with sheer venom. "it means nothing to me with how your performance in this class is beyond pathetic."

jimin's lower lip wobbles.

"if you fail the next exam, you will be pulled out of this class."

pulled out of class?

he can't get pulled out, surely. a senior needs to be taking seven classes in order to graduate, and if he gets pulled out completely, he won't be able to. meaning, he won't be able to finish senior year, won't attend his graduation, won't go to uni- and what about his parents?

"n-no, you can't-" jimin begs, frantically shaking his head, "i'll try harder, p-please! what c-can i do to further boost my grades?"

jungkook purses his lips, lowers the glasses sitting on the bridge of his nose. "i can offer private tutoring sessions outside of school hours." he replies, nonchalantly, "i'm expecting you at our first one after school."

and with no more than a blink of an eye, it's confirmed.

when jimin walked out of his physics class with his phone in hand, he clicked on a notification from his mail app. the most recent email opened, one sent by jungkook two hours prior. a simple message, stated:
