Dry, small ticking escaped from the tiny creature in the palm of your hand. Around its tiny legs was a fresh bandage you just finished wrapping around it. The bottom of your thumb caressed its bright blue feathers easing it of its worry. The fear of receiving punishment for being tiny slowly dies away inside its tiny body. The curious twitch of its head looks up at you causing a smile to grow on your lips.

"You're okay", you reassured the small belted kingfisher.

The tiny colorful bird twitched its head to the side to get a better look up at you due to its long beak being in the way.

Lifting your hands you placed the bird back into its cage. Maneuvering the bird gently in your hand, you allowed him to step out of your hand before closing the cage door.

The cage was near the window of your small home. The cold yet the memories etched into the house walls and bones kept the shivers and wind away. The home your parents left for you before they met their demise at a young age.

"You're still taking care of it", you heard Muzan questioned.

"I am, I can't exactly let him go yet", you answered smiling at the small creatures before turning around to face him. Muzan moved closer to the cage peering into it causing his long wavy hair to cover one of his eyes again. The bird moved away pressing into the other side of the cage to get away from the man. Muzan scoff in disdain and leaned away, he only opted out of smacking the cage since it would upset you.

"It'll die anyway, once you release it", Muzan commented. "Am I not allowed to hope that he doesn't", you questioned causing him to glance at you out of the corner of his eye. "...I suppose you are", Muzan replied turning his body to face you.

Reaching out you moved his hair back over his ear. His eyes softened and leaned towards your hand hoping to feel your skin brush against the coldness of his cheek, begging just to feel a flicker of your warmth. When pulling your hand back his eyes squinted with annoyance. Before you could even lower your hand back by your side he grabbed your wrist and forced your hand to freeze. Muzan placed his cheek into the palm of your hand closing his eyes.

The soft breeze of his breath brushed against the corner of your palm. Muzan filed to resist the urge to kiss your skin letting it linger for a second more. A giggle escaped you as you caressed his cheek until he had his fill. His eyes peered back open at you.

"...You should move in with the doctor", he brought up. "The doctor?", you questioned. "Yes", he said making you release a sigh. "Muzan that's..I don't want to intrude on him", you said. "You won't be", he stated. "It's my estate, I want you there".

"I know but I can't just leave this house", you replied. "It's important".

"It's a house"

"My family's house", you reminded.
