The next morning, Taehyung slowly regained consciousness in an unfamiliar room. The bed he lay on was luxurious, the sheets impossibly soft against his skin, but the sense of confinement was suffocating. Sunlight filtered through heavy drapes, casting a muted glow around the room.
He sat up slowly, his body aching from the events of the previous day. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he saw Jungkook seated in a chair by the window, watching him intently. Jungkook’s gaze was unwavering, a mix of possessiveness and concern etched on his face.
"Good morning, baby," Jungkook said softly, standing up and walking over to the bed. "How are you feeling?"
Taehyung moved away slightly, the memory of Noir and the overwhelming fear from the previous night still fresh in his mind. "Where am I?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
This is your new home," Jungkook replied, sitting down beside him. "You fainted last night. I carried you here to make sure you were safe."
Taehyung’s eyes darted around the room, searching for any signs of escape. But the door was closed, and he could hear the faint sounds of guards outside. "I want to see my parents," he said, his voice trembling.
Jungkook’s expression hardened slightly. "You know that’s not possible, Taehyung. You belong here with me now."
Tears welled up in Taehyung’s eyes, but he quickly wiped them away. "Why are you doing this to me?" he whispered.
Jungkook reached out, gently cupping Taehyung’s face in his hands. "Because I love you, Tae. I need you to understand that everything I do is to protect you and keep you safe."
Before Taehyung could respond, the door opened and Namjoon and Jin entered the room, their expressions pleased.
"Good to see you’re awake, baby bear," Namjoon said with a smile. "We were worried about you."
Jin approached the bed, his gaze soft yet calculating. "We’ve prepared breakfast for you. You need to eat and regain your strength."
Taehyung felt a pang of helplessness as he realized how tightly controlled his life was now. He had no choice but to comply, at least for the moment. He nodded slowly, forcing himself to remain calm.
As Jungkook helped him out of bed, Taehyung’s mind raced, trying to come up with a plan. He needed to find a way to communicate with his parents, to let them know he was still alive. But with so much surveillance it seemed impossible.
As they walked down the hallway to the dining room, Taehyung noticed something unsettling: none of the maids or staff made eye contact with him. They kept their heads down, avoiding his gaze entirely. This only heightened his sense of isolation and unease.
Upon reaching the dining area, where a lavish breakfast spread awaited them, Taehyung sat down, his appetite nonexistent despite the array of delicious food. Jungkook, Namjoon, and Jin watched him closely, their eyes never leaving him.
"Eat, Taehyung," Jin urged gently. "You need your strength."
Taehyung stared at the food, unable to bring himself to take a bite. The silence in the room grew heavy, the tension palpable. Finally, Namjoon’s patience snapped.
"Why aren’t you eating?" Namjoon demanded, his voice cold and authoritative. "We provide everything for you, and this is how you repay us?"
Taehyung flinched at the harsh tone, but he couldn’t bring himself to speak. The fear and despair that had been building inside him were too overwhelming. Jin’s usually gentle demeanor turned stern.
"Tae, we won’t tolerate this kind of behavior," Jin said sharply. "You are part of this family now, and you will act accordingly."
Jungkook’s eyes darkened, his grip on Taehyung’s hand tightening. "You need to understand, Taehyung," he said, his voice low and dangerous, "that defiance won’t get you anywhere. You are ours now, and you will obey."
"I... I need some water," he stammered, trying to keep his voice steady.
Jungkook’s eyes narrowed, but he nodded. "Go ahead," he said, his voice laced with suspicion. "The kitchen is just down the hall."
Taehyung walked to the kitchen, his heart pounding. He stepped inside and saw a maid busy with her tasks. Summoning his courage, he approached her.
"Excuse me," he said softly, "can I ask you something?"
The maid froze, her eyes widening in surprise. She glanced around nervously before meeting his gaze. "Yes, sir?"
"Have I done something wrong?" Taehyung asked, his voice trembling slightly. "Why is everyone avoiding me?"
The maid looked down, her hands trembling as she wiped them on her apron. "We’re not allowed to interact with you, sir," she whispered. "Mr. Jeon’s orders."
Taehyung felt a chill run down his spine. "Why?"
The maid glanced around again, her fear palpable. "They say it’s to keep you safe and to ensure you don’t get any ideas about leaving," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Please, sir, don’t ask me any more. I could get in trouble."
Returning to the dining room, Taehyung took his seat again. Jungkook’s gaze was fixed on him, a mixture of concern and suspicion. "Everything alright?" he asked, his voice deceptively soft.Taehyung nodded, trying to maintain his composure. "Yes, just needed a moment," he said, forcing a smile.
Taehyung’s hands trembled as he picked up a fork, but he couldn’t bring himself to take a bite. The pressure of their stares, the knowledge of his captivity, it was all too much. Suddenly, Jungkook’s expression shifted from concern to anger.
"Why do you make everything so difficult?" Jungkook hissed, his grip on Taehyung's arm tightening painfully. "We’re doing this for you, Taehyung. Why can’t you see that?"
Taehyung felt a tear escape, rolling down his cheek. "I don’t want this," he whispered, his voice breaking. "I never asked for any of this."
