MIKHA’S POINT OF VIEW
“I don’t want to go there.” I tried to convinced Mom na hindi ako isama. I'm really tired dahil kakagaling ko lang sa U.S then this happen. “Am I required talaga to go there?”
“Janna, my dear. your dad will introduce you to everyone.” Mom gently smiled at me. I sighed and I took my pendant inside my tshirt, before lumabas ng car.
I’m just wearing a simple black shirt and medyo hindi pa ako nakaayos tapos papaattend pa nila ako ng ganitong event. Like everyone was in their best outfit, habang ako? Para akong attend ng simple party na ganito yung suot ko.
I followed Mom inside the venue and I was overwhelmed when I saw the crowd. Nandito yung iba't ibang business woman and men sa event na to dahil gathering na 'to is special to them.
Isa ang family namin sa nag sponsor ng event na to that's why Kuya and my Ate is also here. Ako kasi na kaka-
dating lang dinala rin ako agad dito.
We went to the spot we're kuya and ate was there. Nung nakita nila ako they immediately hugged me and kiss my cheeks.
“Ate, Stop your saliva!” I pushed her face away from me. Natawa naman sila Kuya and Mommy samin ni Ate kaya tinarayan ko sila. “Bakit kasi nandito ako.”
“Baby Janna is really mad na oh.” Ate teased me. I rolled my eyes and cross my arms, tumingin ako sa paligid to para hanapin si Dad sa crowd.
Everyone was busy chichat when suddenly we heard someone holding a mic kaya napatingin kaming lahat sa stage. I saw Dad wearing formal attire while his holding on his right arms a glass of wine.
“I would like to say that... I’m greatful that everyone is here. Even my rivals in business is also here.” Dad made joke about it. They laugh ng slight sa Joke ni Dad kahit walang nakakatawa.
“Dad still has a tito jokes.” I said, Kuya laughed at me nung narinig niya yun.
“Also, I would like you to all meet.. my family! And of course, complete na yung mga anak ko dahil...” Pabitin na sabi ni Dad. Tumingin siya sa pwesto namin and gave me a signal na umakyat sa stage. “Finally, my Mikhaela Janna Lim has arrived from US”
Everyone stared at me kaya wala na akong nagawa, I walked upstairs sa stage and doon ko na nakita yung mga taong nandito. I scanned the sur-
roundings before I spotted someone in the crowd.
“Aiah..” I whispered on myself when I saw Aiah was staring at me. She's wearing a beautiful blue dress, para siyang si Mama Mary.
“You didn't say na dumating kana pala.” Napatingin ako sa biglang umakbay sakin, Jhoanna smiled at me habang nakaakbay. “Hindi ka manlang nagparamdam.”
“Totoo.” Jhoanna was with Colet and Gwen. Sinundan nila ako dito sa may bench sa labas ng venue. “Ngayon ka lang ba dumating?”
“Yes, actually pinaderetso ako ni Mom here.” I sighed, hindi ko alam gagawin ko ngayon. Kung ano anong puma-
pasok sa isip ko. “Kung alam ko nga lang na ganitong event pala pupuntahan ko edi sana hindi na ako tumuloy.”
“Ayaw mo ba? Or baka ayaw mo lang makita siya?” Jhoanna started to teased me. Tumingin ako ng masama sakanya bago sila matawa. “We know that you saw her.”
