I raised an eyebrow, my gaze locking onto his. "What do you mean by 'our mission'?" I asked, my voice firm but laced with a hint of curiosity. He tilted his head, his eyes narrowing slightly as he regarded me with a confused expression. "Our mission?" he repeated, his tone tinged with amusement. "Like we-"
I cut him off, my words swift and decisive. "Excuse me, but I don't know what's behind your wrong assumptions, but let me make one thing clear this isn't happening." His eyes sparkled with surprise, and a hint of a smile played on his lips. "Yn, what do you actually mean? Aren't we on the same path?"
I stood tall, my shoulders squared, and my voice firm. "Oh, no, we're not. Not even close. I just met you, and you're already talking about teaming up? I don't even know you, nor do I want to. Let me remind you, I'm all good, and I'm doing just fine on my own." He sighed, running a hand through his hair as he regarded me with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. "But-"
I didn't let him finish. "I don't see any reason why you'd want this. It was nice meeting you, but I hope our paths don't cross again. Not even by accident." With that, I turned and walked away, leaving him standing there, lost in thought.
He stood there, watching the path I had taken, a mix of confusion and intrigue etched on his face. "What's up with her?" he muttered to himself, shaking his head. "Too strange."
He shrugged off the encounter, his eyes scanning the surrounding area before he turned to leave. As he walked away, he couldn't help but glance back over his shoulder, his gaze lingering on the spot where I had disappeared from view.
A faint smile played on his lips, and he chuckled softly to himself. "Well, I'm not dying, and I've got more things to work out for." His voice was low and introspective, a hint of determination underlying his words. He continued on his way, his footsteps echoing through the air as he vanished into the distance.
Yn pov:
As I shut the door behind me, I leaned against it, my chest heaving with each ragged breath. The encounter with the mysterious stranger had left me shaken, and the memories of his veiled threats still lingered in my mind like a bad omen.
I slid down the door, my back against the cool wood, and my eyes fixed on the floor. The café's moments flashed before my eyes - his intense gaze, his cryptic words, and the way he seemed to see right through me.
My breathing grew more labored, and I could feel the familiar tightness in my chest. I reached into my pocket and grasped my inhaler, bringing it to my lips. I took a deep breath, feeling the medication coursing through my lungs, and slowly, my breathing began to steady.
"Why did he have to show up?" I muttered to myself, frustration and fear warring for dominance. "I don't need some...some..." I trailed off, unable to find the words to describe the stranger.
