I descended into my basement, shedding my gloves and boots like worn armor. The chair creaked as I settled in, laptop glowing before me. Yet, my thoughts betrayed me.
"Who is he?" my mind whispered, an insistent refrain. "Why does he feel familiar?"
My fingers tapped an impatient rhythm on the table, as if summoning answers. I stamped my foot, frustration echoing through the room.
"No!" I commanded myself shaking of the distraction. "My mission demands focus"
I leaned in, scrutinizing the CCTV footage on my screen. But instead of the expected images of fleeing men, I saw nothing.
My palm slammed against the table. "How did they vanish in just a few hours?" I muttered.
A sudden realization dawned on me. "What if they have a secret hideout?" My raised eyebrow mirrored my curiosity.
As I pondered their possible locations, the pieces fell into place. There was one area without CCTV coverage – the alley.
"Determined, I made up my mind, I'd investigate the alley tomorrow morning."

Yn pov:- I settled into bed, lost in thought, my gaze fixed on the ceiling as I pondered the mission. My eyelids grew heavy, weighed down by fatigue.
Slowly, my thoughts blurred, and I surrendered to sleep, the mission's details fading into the darkness.
/:After some time :/ Author's pov:- Yn's body convulsed, her fingers digging deep into her neck. Her legs kicked out, tangled in the sheets, as she wrestled with the darkness.
Her eyes, scrunched tight, couldn't block the horrors unfolding in her mind. A blood-curdling scream tore from her lips.
"Ahh!!!!!!"
Her voice cracked, echoing through the silent night, as she struggled to break free from the nightmare's grip.
Yn's eyes snapped open, gasping for air as if an unseen force choked her. She bolted upright in bed, panting heavily.
Her breathing intensified, and her trembling hand rummaged through the bedside drawer.
Yn rummaged through her drawer, grasping her trusty inhaler. She brought it to her lips, inhaling deeply a few times.
As the medication took hold, her tension ebbed, replaced by relief.
With a weary sigh, she settled back into bed.
"I'm so done with these nightmares," she whispered, frustration and exhaustion etched in her voice.
Yn's eyelids fluttered shut, but the darkness conjured the nightmare. The man's face loomed, his fingers tugging off her mask, stealing her breath.
