Everyone knew that Ser Criston serves Queen Rheanyra and that he's loyal to whoever sits the Iron throne. What many didn't know was that he himself has a lady wife.
Criston never talked about his wife because sometimes he was ashamed of her ,because of the way she behaved or spoke to him.
For example when his wife was called barren by his mother for not being with child sooner ,his wife responded by calling his mother names then accuse her that Criston wasn't even her son.
But he takes it easy with her since she's just a kid. She married him at the age of five and ten now she's six and ten.
They have been married for a year and no one knew until he was asked by a lord when he was taking in a wife. He then invited him to a ball along with his wife which made his blood freeze.

At the ball when they arrived there were already so many people there rejoicing for whatever. Criston and his wife moved back at the same time when a dancing couple came their way.
Immediately when she caught the sight of wine he held on to her wrist,she looked back at him with puppy eyes however he just turned and dragged her along.
He introduced his wife to his fellow knights before moving on to the lords and the Queen. Surprisingly she behaved well especially around the Queen.
He could feel her tense up in the gaze of Rhaenyra Targaryen.
