"I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention!" Wonyoung rushed, already starting the day with a clumsy mistake. Yes, she was a confident and bright girl, but the brunette had a habit of being clumsy. When Wonyoung gazed up at the taller male, she was taken aback. He was certainly ethereal, almost too perfect. His face looked like it was sculpted by Aphrodite herself, and his tall figure only enhanced his looks. His black hair was silky, and it framed his face like an exquisite painting.

The mysterious boy bowed his head slightly and turned his body away, walking towards the school's courtyard. Wonyoung thought he was a bit strange though, he seemed to be a little awkward, or maybe embarrassed? She couldn't quite pinpoint it, but the boy seemed like he didn't want to be acknowledged by his peers. Wonyoung brushed the thought off and adjusted her uniform.

"Wonnie!" the brunette heard someone call out her name, she shifted towards the direction of the sound. Wonyoung was suddenly pulled into a hug. "Who was that, you've already got a boyfriend?"

It was Yujin, Wonyoung's senior, neighbour, and childhood best friend. The younger girl rolled her eyes and chuckled, shaking her head.

"You're ridiculous, Yujin unnie, I have no idea who he is." Wonyoung stated, matter of factly.

"Whatever, it's been a while since we've been able to walk around campus together! I'll show you around, freshman." The short haired girl insisted, nudging her best friend's arm.

Yujin wasn't exactly wrong, since she's a year older than Wonyoung, she moved into high school a year earlier. The two girls still saw each other nearly every day though, a benefit of being neighbours. They happily walked around campus together until the opening ceremony started.

Orientation has finished and all the students headed to their homerooms, where their teachers would be explaining basic rules, schedules, etc. Wonyoung was lucky enough to get one of the kind teachers, Mr. Bang, who was also her English teacher. She walked into the classroom and sat in a desk near the middle-back of the room. The classroom quickly filled with students, all new to the school.

"There aren't many seats left, mind if I sit here?" A fairly tall girl with long blonde hair asked Wonyoung, while motioning to the seat next to her.

"Of course you can sit here, my name is Jang Wonyoung!" The brunette gave her new acquaintance a warm smile. The blonde sat down and introduced herself.

"I'm Kim Jiwon, but you can just call me Liz!" The two girls quickly got along, and Wonyoung couldn't be more relieved. She was grateful, knowing she wouldn't be alone in homeroom.

A few more minutes passed with all the students getting to know each other through small talk when Mr. Bang finally walked in.

"All right, class, let's go over some basic rules, shall we?"

"And this is your club registration form," Mr Bang explained while handing out sheets of paper, "If you're interested in joining a club, please submit this before next week."

Wonyoung looked at the long list of club options, even though she already knew what she was picking. She wrote arts club in the blank space along with her signature, and then tucked it away in her bag.

"Do you know what club you're picking, Wonyoung?" Her seat mate asked. The brunette nodded in reply.

"I chose art! What did you pick?"

"Awe, too bad. I'm no good at art, I'm joining choir."

"Choir? You should serenade me one day~" Wonyoung joked in a sing-song voice, making the two girls giggle.

"All right, class. Since today's the first day, you're all free to go early. Be sure to submit the club applications ASAP, and good afternoon." The teacher announced right before the bell, signifying the students' dismissal, rang. Wonyoung and Liz said their goodbyes before parting ways.

Wonyoung and Yujin decided to go out to commemorate the younger's first day as a high school student. They visited a few clothing and accessory shops in the mall before going to a café to order drinks and sweets.

"This is the best café near the school, I come here for my study sessions sometimes." Yujin smiled as she entered the familiar place. This café was very cozy, it had a neutral colour pallet with a few plant decor here and there, and it smelt like a mix of coffee and lavender. Wonyoung could already see the appeal her friend had towards this café.

"I'll pay, Unnie, it's my first day as a high school student so I'm going to treat my senior!" The younger said excitedly. Yujin just chuckled and accepted the offer, knowing how stubborn the latter can be.

"What do you want?"

"An iced coffee with tiramisu, please~"

Wonyoung approached the counter to
place her order. The worker was young, around the same age as her, and really tall. He had a cute face and fluffy brown hair, and his name tag had Kyungmin written on it.

"Could I please get an iced coffee with tiramisu and a frappé with cheesecake?"

"Of course, you can swipe your card in a moment, I'll start preparing the drinks."

After paying for the food and drinks, Wonyoung went to the table her best friend had reserved for the two. The same boy brought their order to the table a few minutes later, the two girls enjoyed their treat before heading home.
