♡❀ [ irl + social media ] ❀♡2 MONTHS LATER ...
Things have changed between the group of friends. It was something Evie was afraid would happen. She never wanted to be the reason her friends stopped hanging around the boys as often. She felt guilty even though Ivy and Emily expressed numerous times that she didn't need to be.
She didn't believe them though.
Evie couldn't help but notice how Emily would hang out with Chris more often, occasionally with Nick as well. She knew Emily and Chris had something going on between them, they just kept it quiet for the most part.
Ivy on the other hand mainly only hung out with Nick, rare moments where Chris would tag along if they were going out to grab lunch.
Never once did she see them hanging out with Matt though.
The guilt eating her alive knowing she put a wedge between their friendships.
However, she couldn't help but be mad at Matt as well. If he hadn't of made the choices he did, they wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. He just had to go ahead and ruin everything.
She hasn't spoken to the boy for a couple of months now, avoiding him at all costs. The last time they interacted with one another being the carnival that night. Where they shared a funnel cake under the twinkling lights of the food stands.
She refuses to leave her dorm at the same time as him to go to class; Aiden coming over to walk with her instead. When she's sitting in her seat as the lecture goes on she never turns around to see him.
Although, that doesn't mean she can't feel the burning of his eyes on her back.
They both have stopped texting each other as well to top it all off. Matt having given up due to never getting any responses back. Evie ignoring them due to respecting her progressing relationship with Aiden.
She still remembers the one night she got back late from her class, notifications from the messy haired boy blowing up her phone. He was drunk and angry, saying how he didn't understand how she could throw everything away for a guy like Aiden.
A guy that was using her to get at him, to get under his last nerve. He said many hurtful things that night, also bringing up Jayla and how she was overreacting about the situation with her.
Needless to say, drunk angry Matt was not the person she ever wanted to be around, let alone speak to.
So she ignored him.
He ended up texting her the next morning apologizing profusely, saying he didn't mean what he said and that he was just saying stupid shit. He continued to apologize for a couple days after that, never once asking for her forgiveness though.
If you know Matthew Sturniolo, he doesn't beg.
FLASHBACK !
"I just don't get it, why won't she text me back? I've apologized like fifty times!" Matt exclaims, letting out a huff as he runs his fingers through the brown fluff of his hair.
Nick rolls his eyes, unable to believe his own brother could be so dense sometimes.
"You seriously don't know why she isn't texting you back? Are you dumb?" He tilts his head, voice monotone as he furrows his brows at him.
