Opening your eyes,
you woke up to an empty room.
Nothing but the sheets to cover you after a long night with Jack Napier,
the early hours of the morning
but the sun hadn't risen yet.Getting out of bed,
you pulled on your dressing gown,
tying the belt softly
before you looked for him.But looking up from below,
you didn't need to search for long,
because there he was,
out on the balcony,
in nothing but his sweats,
his muscly back facing you,
staring out at the city,
a kaleidoscope of cars and lights
flashing by in the distance."Jack?"
You stepped out into the open,
cautious to approach him because whenever
he was in one of these kinds of moods,
you never knew who you were going to get.The Jack Napier for you,
or the Jack Napier for everyone else."There's my girl"
He looked at you over his shoulder,
a grin forming on his lips,
intense blue eyes that almost looked high.
"wore you out,
huh?""Jack..."
You mumbled shyly,
the way he was so open about
everything like it was casual,
but you were still so insecure and quiet.A low chuckle leaving his mouth,
he reached into the pocket of his sweats,
taking out a cigarette and placing
it in between his lips to light it."Ah,
don't be modest"
He teased you.
"We both know ya like it,
little girl""What are you doing out here?"
You fell into place next to him,
staring out at the city and
despite it's beauty,
even you couldn't figure it out.
"It 4:30 in the morning,
J...
You need sleep""I'm not tired,
sweetheart"
He told you lowly,
releasing smoke from his cigarette,
a low sigh leaving his mouth
like it was a relief.
"You go back to bed,
hm?"Sometimes,
He would be awake for days,
surviving on nothing
but a combination of whiskey
and cigarettes,
lines of cocaine,
chaos and violence like it was
the very thing that gave him life.
You wondered,
occasionally,
how he could even function that way
but for him,
it was effortless,
like second nature."Can we go inside now?"
You breathed softly
"I don't want to fall asleep alone""Fancy a fifth round,
do we?"
He smirked to himself,
discarding of the cigarette
as it went falling the grown below,
furrowing your eyebrows
because it was illegal now."Jack,
You can't just throw your cigarette
ends around...
You can get a fine for that,
it's two hundred
dollars-""You kids and your little fucking rules"
He remarked,
giving you a gentle push through the doorway
and following you into the bedroom.
"Let's see how well you can abide to mine,
hm?"
