Frisk followed Toriel through the ruins, completing various puzzles she had laid out for them. With her help, of course. They eventually got to a long hallway where Toriel said she needed Frisk to walk to the end of a long corridor by themselves.
Frisk was fine, they saw her hide behind the pillar on the other end of the room.
* (Haha, That wasn't too bad!)
Frisk thought.
* Greetings, my child. Do not worry, I did not leave you, I was merely hiding behind this pillar!
* I'm sorry I had to do that to you, I needed to test your independence.
* I wanted to be sure that you were going to be okay in this world.
* Aww, that's sweet.)
Frisk smiled at what Toriel had said, finding it to be very heartwarming that she would care for a child she didn't even know this much.
* I have business I have to attend to, so I must leave you alone for a while.
* (fuck.)
Frisk was... Not enthuastic about this recent revelation
* It's dangerous to explore alone. I have an idea! I'll give you a CELL PHONE!
Toriel retrieved a spare phone that she had in her pocket and handed it over to Frisk.
|-Frisk now has the CELL PHONE-|* A lil dated, but it's nice! I like it! Thank you!
Frisk smiled up at Toriel, causing her to giggle in glee.
* I'm glad you do! Alright, behave yourself now! I'll be back soon, don't go anywhere without me!
Toriel said as she left the room Frisk was is.
Frisk sat down by the pillar and waited, hoping that the nice, motherly goat lady would return soon.
"Hello."
* AaAhH!-
Frisk jumped at the sudden voice that came from their right. They turned and look down and saw the white and yellow flower emerging from the ground and looking up at them.
* You scared the crap out me dude! Holy hell.
Frisk exclaimed, being taken aback by Flowey's sudden appearance."I did not mean to frighten you, I apologize."
Flowey said, the expression on his face never changing.
* It's fine it's fine. Hey, why'd you run off on me earlier?
Frisk asked.
"I did not want her to see me."
* Who, Toriel? Why not? She's so sweet! I'm sure she wouldn't have mind having you around!
"My reasons are ones you would not understand. It's very complicated, I won't bore you with the details for now. Maybe some other time."* Okay...
Frisk was a bit puzzled. This flower was making her nervous, and yet, at the same time they were starting to feel as they knew him from somewhere. This entire place had been giving them some major deja vu, they just couldn't figure out why.
"You want to get out of here, don't you?"
* Huh? Oh, yes! Of course I do! You said I had to reach the other side of the underground?
"You have to escape the ruins. After you're out of here, you must look for a Boss Monster named ASGORE."
* Asgore? Does he know the way out?
"You're going to have to kill him."
Frisk's heart sank. The way Flowey had said what he said, had it been anyone else they would've just laughed it off and took it as a joke. Flowey wasn't joking, far from it. He didn't say much, and yet he meant every word of it.
* Wh-what do you mean? Kill him? I can't- Dude, I'm JUST a kid! I turned 14 two months ago! How the hell am I suppose to kill a guy who I've never met before!?
Flowey's head turned side to side before sinking down into the dirt.
* HEY! WHERE-
Flowey appeared behind Frisk, making a quick "FWOOMP" sound.
"I know we just met, but you have to trust me. I wish there was a better way to tell you, but there simply isn't. This is how things are, Human."
* Wh-... Hhhh, fine.
Frisk got up and walked over to Flowey.
* Don't start calling me "Human" by the way, my name is Frisk.
"Okay. Frisk. You have to travel through these ruins in order to get to the exit, but there are many puzzles that lay ahead of us. I'll do my best to help you solve them."* Alright. Good to know, thanks.
Frisk walked past Flowey and started moving into the next room.
"And another thing."
Frisk stopped and turned to Flowey.
* Hm?
"This place. The Underground. There are going to be monsters that will try their damndest to harm you. You can't be friends with everyone, you're going to have your enemies, theres no escaping that."
* Yeah, I figured as much...
Frisk replied.
"But... For the time being, just know that no matter what, I'm your friend. Okay?"
* Oh... Uh... Yeah, Okay. Thanks.
Frisk was a bit shocked to hear this.
Flowey simply retreated back into the ground as if nothing had happened. Despite him being underground, Frisk heard his voice, although slightly muffled.
"I'll be waiting for you up ahead."
Frisk simply stood for a moment before continuing onward.
Their friend... Frisk was... They didn't know how to feel. This was the first time anyone had said that they were their friend in a long time. It was a familiar feeling, and yet it felt strangely new. Frisk chalked it up to it being because it came from a flower. But something inside them felt a little warmer than it did before.
They continued on to the next room, with a slight but genuine smile on their face.
* My... Friend.
