"ADRIK, YOU'LL RIDE with me" I commanded placing by final piece of luggage in the trunk of my 1969 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible. We were leaving New York, gearing up for a three-hour drive to Washington, DC. Amara had told me that the crystal we were after was being guarded there. She also hadn't stayed at the hotel with me last night.

We hadn't exchanged a single word about me having my finger's deep inside of her guts last night. I honestly preferred it that way, I didn't have time for someone who would give a shit about a sexual encounter.

It was lust, nothing more.

"I think I'll pass on that. I'd feel safer riding with the others rather than my lunatic brother, who promised me a lifetime of misery," Adrik said with a scowl. He started loading his luggage into the other car.

I swiftly snatched it from his hands and threw it into my trunk before slamming it shut. "I wasn't asking. Get in," I ordered, sliding into the driver's seat. Adrik, my poor excuse of a vampire brother, cussed under his breath as he settled into the passenger seat.

"What's the matter, Adrik? Afraid of a little road trip bonding time? We can sing songs, or we can play this new game I made. It's called 'Adrik the rabbit eater' you know, because you only feed on animal's like a wimp, of course." I teased, shooting him a grin.

"You're not funny and please, I'd rather stick needles in my eyes. And I don't trust your driving. Last time you nearly ran over a person. Twice," Adrik shot back, folding his arms.

"That wasn't accidental, That was on purpose." I retorted, starting the engine. "Besides, you'd survive. You're practically indestructible. Annoying, but indestructible."

Rolling down the window, I glanced at the car next to us. Mason was behind the wheel, with Serena in the passenger seat. In the back, Amara, Jackie, and that useful idiot named Cameron were squeezed together.
