Chapter 4
I stopped in front of the apartment complex. Nothing felt right, I had to actually do something. So I went to the park. The kids played kid games with smiles on their faces, the mothers and fathers—at least the ones who care about what their children are doing—are bored out of their mind. Faces glued to the phone, like a child watching a Coco-fucking-melon. God it’s horrendous.
Then the single mothers take a jog when they are eighty. It gets worse as I look around, way worse.
The unfit middle-aged men eating McDonald’s like it’s their last meal, the sad lonely boy crying after his middle school girlfriend broke up with him. He was so close to Christmas. I don’t want to be like him. Because it hurt when I was.
I took a jog, feeling a little better. It was 6:12PM. Time to go home. The middle school boy already left during my first lap. The sad parents left during my fourth. They couldn’t bear to see someone better than them. I know I’m better.
I started my journey home, feeling calm and more connected to my surroundings. I finally made it back to the apartment. Trying to ignore the lady on my street screaming into her phone about a John (He isn’t gonna come back to you.).
And in a perfect queue (again.) my phone buzzed.
@Serany_Lilly added to their story
“Well, she just added to her story.” It was a video, the video was about a girl with the caption:
When he remembers your order <3
She added some text with it:
Wendyssss
With a drooling face.8:58PM, it was getting late. I started to get in that mood, so I had to rub one out. Gerald wasn’t in my room with me, he was with Carl and those girl best friends. So I actually had alone time. Alone time is the best, but I think it’s time to go to sleep, I’ve been needing to sleep.
5:15AM, the alarm woke me up. The secondary alarm was already in place. Carl. “Come on, time to get ready for work!” He shouted, Carl was more calm this time around.
“I’m getting up, I’m going.” I muttered, slowly climbing out of bed.
“We don’t have time for messing around, you said you’re going to stay overtime.”
“I did?”
“Yeah, you came out of your room around midnight, and just started randomly talking about how you're staying overtime, then just went back into your room.”
“Tell me your… lying.”
“I’m not.”
“I don’t remember… doing any of that.” I slurred my words a little, my brain barely awake yet.
“And you don’t remember how I got here, so you forget a lot of things.”
“That’s different.”
Did I actually say that? I… don’t remember…
I got out of bed, getting up and heading towards the closet.
“H-hey, watch out on the floor.” Carl whispered.
I looked down, about four to five girls were sleeping. “What the hell are they doing here?”
“They didn’t have a ride back, so I let them stay.” Why the hell did he let these random girls here for the night?
“You… what?”
Carl shrugged, but this all doesn’t matter to me. I just want my date to happen already. I slipped on my jacket, and grabbed my bag—I thought about bringing Gerald with me—I walked downstairs, opening the door and walking down to the gas station.
I finally had a normal morning, when I arrived, Richard was sitting in the back.
“Richard! I’m here!” I said as I walked towards the counter.
Richard stepped out of the back, his arms wide open. “We live to see another day!”
“So the inspector approved?” I ask, tapping on the table.
“Mhm, and don’t forget. You said you’d work overtime because of Tuesday.” Richard told me. I already knew that though, so I just nodded and agreed.8:24AM, you arrived. “Well if it isn’t Coffee Girl.” You didn’t bat an eye, you seemed a little bit on the edge, but you don’t fool me. As you made your coffee I saw you smile and bite your lip, you aren’t slick with it.
Your tight but also loose flare leggings. Your shirt was a little thick, it definitely was soft. And your jacket made sure you were fully warm. But don’t forget those badass boots. Nice and black just at the top of your calves.
That calm but also mysterious expression. But you still can’t fool me. You are dying for me.
You walk up to the register, “Little precious is too cool to talk now?” You giggle, “I wouldn’t say cool.”
“So what would you say you are?”
“Too precious.” And you giggle again.
You place your items on the counter, looking at me softly. You’re dying for tomorrow.
“Where were you yesterday?” You ask and I am sorry.
“Ah, I was running errands for my manager, then he let me off early.” Then you nodded, I scanned your items.
“Don’t be late tomorrow.”
“I’ll be sure not to.” I smiled softly, waving you goodbye after you paid.
Today, we meet.
Tomorrow, we are complete.
The grill has finally finished making the beef patty.
The love burger is complete.
I couldn’t stop staring at you as you walked away. I couldn’t believe I would be near you—all thanks to Gerald.—your hair blew in the wind, I could tell you were feeling yourself. I knew when you got home you would cuddle up next to your cat, look through your phone, tweet, then call your friends.
I’ve started to figure you out. You like mystery, hoping for someone that isn’t coming over just for sex then leaving. And I’m your guy, the one who’ll cuddle you, put on a movie, it’ll get to the sad scene, and I’ll hold you while you cry and won’t let go until you can’t cry anymore.
I just want the side no one sees, I want the eyes no one sees, the puppy dog eyes, the I-want-to-fuck eyes.
You got into a car, the driver was a lady. Around twenty. You both laughed and looked at me, I had to look away, I can’t bite. If we look each other in the eyes it’ll be awkward.
The car started and the lady drove off with you. My package. But we’ll meet again, soon. Then my phone buzzed, you messaged my fake account.
L: Good morning.
Raccoon Boy.
What. She knows? She shouldn’t know. I didn’t give anything away.
L: Maybe turn off your location ;>
Fuck… that’s right. I didn’t do that. But now you know the secret, so what will you do?
Nothing. You won’t do anything.
A: Coffee Girl.
L: u play too much
Don’t be late.
Do you know who I am, Lilly? Why would I be late? That is the total opposite of me. I wouldn’t be late for our date.
