prologue

19th november, 2023.

a very intense day for india.

finals ka din, india vs australia.

at 1:30 pm, the toss took place.

india won the toss and elected to bowl.

at 2:00 pn the match began.

as usual, kasturie yelled 'ganpati bappa' as the match began and the whole team and the stadium yelled 'morya'.

bumrah went in to bowl first.

in the 5th over, the first wicket was taken by kasturie.

the 2nd was taken in the 10th over.

the wickets kept falling one by one throughout the inning.

the final wicket fell in the 50th over while 2 balls were still remaining.

australia made 240 runs and the target for india was 241.

the 2nd inning began, shubman and rohit went in first.

shubman's wicket was taken in the 2nd over.
then went in virat.

rohit's wicket was taken in the 5th.

then entered shreyas, he scored about 50 runs and he got out too.

it was now the time for our sherni to play. she got geared up and went into the field with a fair amount of confidence.

the first ball was thrown by starc and she hit a 6.
the crowd stood up and started cheering and screaming her name.

the bowler kept throwing balls and kasturie kept hitting 4s and 6s.

it was virat on strike now, hit a few boundaries then kasturie was back in strike yet again she was hitting 4s and 6s but in a slower pace.

we needed just 2 runs to win, kasturie was on strike.

the ball was again thrown by starc, kasturie hit her favourite helicopter shot, taught by mahi and the ball went out of the stadium.

the stadium erupted in cheers as india won. some even shed tears of joy.

"patil finishes off in style. a magnificent strike out of the stadium! india lifts the world cup after 12 years!"

kasturie fell to the ground on her knees, removed her helmet and gloves as tears started flowing from her eyes, she looked up into the sky and smiled in the thought of her parents looking down at her from the sky and said 'i love you' in sign language. virat immediately ran towards her and hugged her. the whole team got up from the pavilion and ran into the field towards both of them.

the team did a group hug and lifted kasturie on their shoulders and started cheering for her.

everyone was happy, the whole country was celebrating our win.

a/n : ofc we all wanted this to happen but kuch cheezein humare haatho mein nahi hoti, khair the team gave their best that's all that matters.
