Fuck! My mind has not been working since the morning. I've been trying to figure out a new idea to advertise the product, which is given to us from a widely-known company, but everything has been going wrong.
I even held a meeting, which just ended with me being out-righteous at all the ridiculous ideas being thrown. These companies are full of idiot people. If it would have been any other day, I would have come up with a brilliant idea, but today.... My mind goes back to the encounter I had with her.
My hand forms a fist as I think about her. God! I wish I wasn't in a situation where I had to get her to work here. She's just annoying. And that attitude of her just shows how dumb she is.
Not accepting a job that would get her life fixed? Only a fool would do that.
She's a total psycho, and if you ever poke her ego, she could go as far as murder someone. But I have to get her to work here for my company.
My mind whirls back to how close that half broken bottle was to my neck. If it would have moved even an inch, my throat would have slit open. I think even the word angry would not be able to describe how she was feeling.
But what did I do to make her mad anyway? Simply put forward a opportunity for her to get what she wants, money.
A knock on the door breaks my trance and I come back to the reality that I have to do something and not just sit here and think about what has already happened.
"Sir, I'm about to go," Lana says.
I clear my throat,"Okay."
I'll do whatever I have to get her to work here tomorrow. I also have to attend a dinner with mom and dad tonight. I already asked my driver to pick Rori and drop her at mom's.
As I prepared to leave, a familiar weight settled in my chest, urging me to retrieve the contract. Folding it neatly, I adjusted it into the recesses of my coat.
When I was about to enter my car, this feeling, that I know all too well, lingers around. I couldn't quite describe it, but it has been hitting me for the past few days.
Against my better judgement, my eyes wander around and come to a sudden halt at the solitary shilloute of her. She's there, sitting in a chair at the bar, her head hanging low.
The navy blue t-shirt and plain light pants, isn't something that could catch your eyes, but it has been engraved into my mind, as I don't get threaten quite often. To be precise, only someone with this piece of clothing has threatened me ever.
I mean, I could try my luck. I do have the contract with me right know, and it seems like I could get the job done.
With the contract securely nestled in my pocket, I enter the bar and sit in the chair beside her. She might have felt someone's presence, as her low-hanging head turns up slowly, until her wandering gaze comes to a halt as she meets mine.
In that moment, as our eyes locked in a silent exchange, the familiar mask of anger and frustration returned to her features. Yet, amidst the storm of emotions, a new revelation dawned-a subtle flicker of vulnerability, . There's this desperation that almost looks like she's tired of all this. She wants to give up. She has no will to fight and would do anything she's told to do.
A solitary tear traced a path down her cheek, revealing the depths of her emotions. She quickly turns away with an angressive wipe. She's drunk. She's clearly drunk, or else she would not have showed this vulnerable side to me, or to anyone, but especially me given the situation right now.
In that moment of clarity, I made a decision to let her be. She's vulnerable and it doesn't feel right to use her in this state of mind. Even though she's someone who doesn't deserve any respect or sympathy, as she left her family for some stupid amount of money, yet it feels wrong to use her as my pawn for the company.
