Concept: Inspired by the video game Apex Legends

Y/n paced through the dark alleyway,, swiftly hopping over dumpsters and metal gates. Sirens can be heard all throughout the city as she continued to run.

Quickly looking over her shoulder she can see flashlights getting brighter as the cops were catching up from behind. Wanting to quickly come up with a plan to escape, Y/n pushed through a door to an abandoned shelter.

Entering the shelter, she quickly hid inside of a locker; holding her breath to stay quiet. "Where'd she go?" said by one of the officers who entered the building. Looking through the smallest cracks of the locker, Y/n was able to see both the officer and their partner as they searched throughout the premises.

As their voices began to sound farther away, Y/n quietly got out of the locker and continued to run away from the shelter. "Shit shit shit." she muttered while running off; she held onto a small briefcase.

Five minutes had gone by and Y/n had made it deep within a forest, hopefully losing the cops in the process. "I have to do this now." she spoke to herself as she hopped over a tree stump, resting her back against it. She had opened the briefcase, revealing a small laptop; asking for a password.

Y/n then pulled out a mini hard drive, plugging it into the computer; decrypting the code in the process. "C'mon c'mon."

As the database began to load, Y/n proceeded to look throughout the encryptions that were on the computer, transferring them over to the hard drive.

After successfully transferring the information over, Y/n then had to override the system, wiping all the evidence that was held inside. "I don't get paid enough for this." she huffed.

Hearing the crunch of dried up leaves made Y/n quickly look over. They had finally caught up to her. "Shit." Y/n then quickly looks over at the percentage to see how much time she had left.

35 percent.

She held onto the computer tight, as she quickly stood up and began to run. "Get back here!" yelled the officer. As she began to run once again, all she could see was a repetition of tall trees, it was like a never ending cycle.

Y/n was unsure if she could make it out alive. Looking up, she heard the roaring of a helicopter now flying overhead.

A gunshot had been heard, seeing the bullet pierce through the bark of a tree Y/n had ran past. It nearly struck her.

It got to the point where Y/n was gasping for air with how much she ran. Looking back at the laptop she groaned at the percentage.

50 percent.

It was half way done, she wasn't sure how much more she could continue to run. Y/n glanced at the laptop once more to see that the percentage was finally progressing much faster than before.

With that little bit of hope, adrenaline had rushed throughout her legs as she continued to sprint with the laptop in her hand.

"We gotcha now Y/n!" yelled the officer as they were seven feet away from her.

"Fuck you!" She yelled, digging deep into her jacket; pulling out a metallic sphere. With a grenade curled around her hand, her thumb glided through the safety switch, swiftly pulling the pin and tossing it on the ground.

The second the cops had stepped foot next to the grenade, a blinding flash and thunderous explosion filled the air. The shockwave rippled outward, the men flew back. They had died.

Y/n had fallen from the shockwave, landing right on the ground while the computer was inches away still loading. While she wasn't fully able to see the percentage, the bar had looked almost done.
