Prologue

I got out of my carriage in front of Bridgerton house, I was greeted by a very somber Viscountess, dressed in black, with a girl around my age, I walked to her, "Your grace." The viscountess said, as she tried to bend her knees to bow my mother picked her up by her shoulders and started hugging her.

"I'm so sorry Violet, for Edmund. Me and my daughters will start here and help you for as long as we need to." "What about the Duke?" The lady asked, my mother pulled away and looked at the woman, "His grace prefers to stay at the country house, he has promised to return for the girls seasons into society." My mother plucked the viscountess hair.

"Victoria, Clarissa, meet Dowager Viscountess Violet, and her daughter Daphne." I hugged daphne like my mother did, "No Clarissa." Victoria pulled me off of her, "My deepest apologies viscountess, you must exscuse my sister." I rolled my eyes which I suppose Daphne saw as she stifled a laugh.

A male came through the door half worried, "Who's that?" I whispered to Daphne, "That's my brother, Anthony, he is the new Viscount." I stared in se at the man, he was handsome, and I knew from that moment I would marry him.
