It's the middle of the afternoon. The forest is bright and alive, with critters going about their daily lives. Scavenging for food, building burrows, they pay no mind to anything else but their tasks. A large creature strolls the woods, it's head brushing the tree leaves above. It is tall and thundering, and if one was to assume, a person. It walks with a cane, paying mind not to step on any fruit bushes or flowers. Frightened critters scurry out of the way to avoid its walking path.

The regular noise is interrupted with the  sound of a screech. This does nothing to stop the chirps and whistles, but a flock of birds fly out from a bush in the distance. The creature slowly makes his way to the noise. It gets louder and more abrasive as it approaches, and it starts to recognize the sound. A child. A very young one to be exact.

Pushing aside tree branches and masses of bushel it swiftly makes its way to the crying child, footsteps thundering as it walks. It stops just before the bush the child is in, and reaches inside to scoop out the child. It is a baby.

Its red little face scrunches up as it cries, kicking its feet and curling its hands into little fists. The baby had a blanket hanging off of it, threatening to fall as the baby flailed. The creature pulled the blanket fully over the screaming child and held it in both palms, looking closely at it. It was covered in scratches and dirty patches.

The creature could hold the little one in the palm of its hand, such a small fragile creature. It didn't know what to do after it had the child so it began to walk away, looking at the baby as it aimlessly wandered. The child hasn't stopped its cries, yet it seemed no harm was done to it. The creature never took care of a human child but it knew little things about them. Their mothers usually feed them and that their mothers can produce said food for them. That little humans usually cry when they're upset. What's upsetting the little one?

As they strolled they thought about the reasons why.

a) it's been alone in the elements for presumably a long time

b) it probably hasn't eaten

c) it misses its mother

d) it has been hurt in some way the creature missed

Getting the child clean and fed can be a good start to settling it, so the creature decided to take it home. Traveling through the woods, a giant creature and a baby make their way home.
