Today marks my 15th day living in Seoul.
It's been half a month since my move, so far I've been cooped up at home mapping out finances and everything. I should have been more logical about this and do most of the things I could back in Japan but my stupid ass decided to wait and come here.
So far I have already found a few locations I like to open up my store. I'm planning to open up one store here before continuing to expand here in Korea.
There are so many extra things I never considered when trying to branch out here. Such as shipping costs, target audience. Which yes is stupid of me but hey, at least I'm doing all that now.
I'm planning to look over and visit a few available stores I can rent out in about three days time hopefully. Obviously depending on whether or not they are available to do so or not.
A constant vibration coming from my phone knocks me out of my train of focus, I glance over to see.. Heeseung?
What does he want? Is he okay? We've been texting each other quite consistently ever since I went out with Chaewon and Yunjin. Either way I don't hesitate to pick up the phone?
"Hello? Hee?"
"Hey, Kkura! Just wondering how the progress with finding a store has been going?" Heeseung greets me from the other end of the phone.
"Well um... it's going.. well I found some places which I like. I'm still arranging a time for me to come down and see it. So I guess it's going quite well." I respond to his question.
"That's good to know! Maybe I can accompany you if I'm free. We haven't met up in person in a while." Heeseung suggests. It's been two weeks since we last saw each other. And to be fair, it's been quite a while since I saw anyone.
"Sure! I'll let you know. Why did you call?" I ask him, since I wasn't expecting him to call. If he just wanted to ask to hangout or accompany me, he could have easily done this through text.
"Can't I call my Noona without a reason?" I hear Heeseung jokingly ask another question. Then he hesitates for a few seconds before speaking up again. "Well.. since I'll accompany you to look around for stores. I guess I'll just tell you then. Enjoy the rest of your day and text me when you're going to see the places for your store."
I say goodbye to him before he cuts the call. I turn off my computer and get off my chair that I've been sitting on for the past few hours. Gosh my back is aching so much, I'm feeling muscles I never felt ever since I started this business.
The sky was getting dark, I check the time on my phone to see that it's almost 8pm. Oh my.. I didn't realise how quickly the time has passed, it's been 7 hours I've been sitting down focused on doing stuff for my work.
"I think I should try to find something to eat" My stomach grumbled right after I said that. "Yup.. I definitely should have something to eat."
I go to my closet and take a cardigan I crocheted along with my keys, wallet and my phone which was already in my hand and I head downstairs of my apartment to go look for food.
Since I'm not hungry, and do need to save money, I stumbled my way inside a nearby convenience store. Hmmm.. what should I get myself? Ramen? Tteokbokki? Gimbap?
I spent a good few minutes taking and putting back food from the shelves till I reached the counter and the receipt racked up to ₩15,000. Note to self, don't go to a convenience store super hungry. So much for trying to save money huh.
Just as I was about to exit the store and head back to my apartment, I was surprised to hear someone call my name. I turn around to see Chaewon with a small shocked expression on her face.
"Chaewon? What are you doing here?" I smile at her. There is a guy standing next to her as well.
"Ohhh, me and Sunoo were doing some shopping in this area and we wanted to stop by here to get some stuff before going back home." Chaewon responds.
"Hi Sakura noona! It's been a long time." Sunoo waves at me and I wave back.
"Sunoo! Yeah it's really been a while since I saw you. You've grown!" The last time I saw Sunoo was when he was 9 years old. I couldn't recognise him at all.
"How has things been with your business?"
"I've been looking over some stores I can rent out and hopefully, I'll be able to go visit them in person soon." I respond.
"It's been a while since we all went out together, we need to go out for a meal again!" Chaewon suggests.
"Of course! We can ask Yunjin when she is free." I say before bidding her goodbye.
Chaewon tells Sunoo to go ahead and start buying stuff before coming closer to me.
"Have you seen Heeseung recently?" Chaewon asks. "Well no, the last time I saw him was the day after I landed. But we do text each other. Why?" I give her a confused look.
"Ohhh.. so did he tell you anything?" After Chaewon asks me, I remember him mentioning telling me something when we meet up. But I didn't think it so much of it.
"Well, he said something about telling me something when we meet up so I guess I'll hear it then."
There was a brief pause before Chaewon speaks up again. "Then I'll see you around! Goodnight unnie!" Chaewon waves bye before she goes to find her brother.
I start walking back to my apartment with my convenience store dinner. Thinking about what Heeseung wants to tell me. That was probably the reason he called me earlier. Now I can't help but wonder about what he wants to talk to me about..
