Ron, Ginny, Neville and Y/N hurried across the seventh-floor corridor toward the entrance into the Room of Requirement.

The castle felt eerily silent at the moment, but to be honest, this was more of a blessing. The less people that they could get involved, the better.

Y/N was mildly annoyed that so many of the D.A had ignored the summon, though no doubt many simply had placed their Galleons away somewhere or otherwise thrown them away. Only Neville and Luna had held onto them for so long, hoping that Y/N may call another meeting.

As they arrived outside, Ron pointed to a nearby alcove.

'There, that's our best bet.'

Ginny nodded in agreement with Ron.

'Who am I to doubt Felix?' said Y/N, 'Neville, stick close to them, they've drunk Felix Felicis, follow them and you should be safe.'

'Be careful Y/N,' said Ginny, stepping forward and hugging him.

'You too, show them what the D.A. are made of.'

As the three of them moved off, Y/N stood opposite the entrance to the Room, watching.

It took almost an hour before the double doors slowly crept back into existence. Y/N sighed and drew his wand.

The door opened and Malfoy poked his head out, glancing left and right before his eyes fell on Y/N.

'Well, well, if it isn't Dumbledore's little pet.' He said, his voice dripping with malice.

Y/N had to give him credit, he was a good actor.

'Harry told me you'd be up to something tonight,' said Y/N.

'Ah yes, Potter, who thought he was so close to figuring me out so many times. That pathetic excuse for a Chosen One could never fathom what I was doing. But enough about that, you're in my way. So, I'd rather like it if you moved.'

'Oh? And do you really think you're going to make me?'

The other door was ripped open.

A large man with matted-grey hair and whiskers, pointed teeth and very sharp yellowish nails bounded from the door, pelting it up the corridor toward Y/N. He looked almost wolf-like.

'Depulso!'

Fenrir Greyback caught the spell full in the chest and was blasted back into the room from where he came.

'Pathetic,' said a voice Y/N recognised far too well.

Maria stepped into sight, emerging from the Room as she drew her own wand. The look that she gave Y/N was one of malice, almost hatred. 'And to think you could be felled by someone so weak Greyback. It's no wonder The Dark Lord needed me back.'

'You shut your mouth,' said Greyback, dragging himself to his feet.

'Be careful with that one, Maria,' said Daughtery, now stepping up alongside her. 'He's tricky.'

'Nice to see you again Caroline, how's the arm?'

'How's the owl?' snarled Daughtery.

'Enough, you know of your job. He is mine, you all do as you were told.'

Y/N shot a stunning spell at Maria before turning and sprinting away. Maria repelled it and gave chase. The moment she'd broken away from the initial group, Y/N heard the cries of Ron, Neville, and Ginny along with watching as some of the light behind him went out.

Malfoy had dropped the powder; the fight had begun.

Y/N sped to the end of the corridor and slid around it, travelling a little bit too far and hitting the wall before correcting.
