❝baby, let's get burnt in midnight sun.❞
CHAPTER 1.

She was out of touch, and Soobin was out of time.
It was raining cats and dogs that day. Some dates after 1st January, but before the tenth, so Soobin presumed it could be 5th of 6th. Actually, didn't matter to him. Other than the time on the clock in his left hand, nothing else mattered.
Under that barren downpour, midst the clouds mourning, the girl sped up from the narrow alley, breathless, no umbrellas in hands but only a cellphone clutched so tightly that it could break. From afar, Soobin lit up his cigarette and held it between his lips, as he watched her rushing to a house at left and starting to bang on the door.
A fallen, broken smile made past his lips. He stared, icily, as the door opened and the panting girl confronted a plump lady donned in a nightdress, who looked so disturbed to have an unwanted guest at that hour.
Past midnight definitely isn't a time to bang on people's doors, is it?
"Mam, I'm so sorry- but the situation is so grave that I-" the girl panted so heavily, clutching her knees as she showed the lady her cellphone. "M-my boyfriend's been missing. He- he works in your shop."
Amusing.
"Who?" the lady squinted her eyes at the screen, the dazzling bright rays coming from it made her flinch due to the lack of actual light around her. The grey and blue of the stirring night sky looked as haunting as ever, as she shook her head. "This man? He used to work here months ago. I don't know, maybe contact the meat shop of Kim's down that alley? I once saw him working there on my way back home."
The girl's eyes turned aghast, and her shoulders slumped down.
"Quite an eye candy, don't you think?"
A hand wrapped around Soobin's shoulders. The familar scent of strong poppy hit his nose. Not tearing his gaze off the girl's face, Soobin replied in a deep, mesmerised tone.
"She's mine, Yeonjun hyung."
"Define the tense here. Was. She was yours, Soobin." Yeonjun gave him a daunting look, leaning closer and whispering into Soobin's right ear. "But not anymore."
As the girl turned away and the door was slammed shut, Soobin chuckled. "I'm not obliged to answer you."
"Come on, why are you so obsessed with this petite human?" Yeonjun leaned against the wall, tapping his shoes on the muddy ground as the slippery sound echoed around the narrow alley. His eyes roamed on the girl, who was returning back, her figure was trembling under the cold shower of rain.
To be honest, Soobin actually didn't know what made him so attracted toward that scent of lavender coming from her. The smell of flesh was definitely overwhelming, but that scent was dominating over. He had to get an explanation of that.
He looked at the small clock held in his left hand, the smoke of his cigarette dying under the droplets of rain.
5:53 pm, it showed.
"Oh, it got two minutes faster!" Yeonjun pointed at the clock, looking amused. "At this rate, the clock will show six sooner than I imagined so."
"It has to." Soobin shoved the clock back into his pocket and stared in front of him. The girl was out of sight.
"What if she doesn't want to come with you, Soobin?"
"I will make her come."
Yeonjun had a knowing smile playing on his lips as Soobin took another fluke from his cigarette. The smoke whirled up into the sky, skull shaped.
