they shine
they are bright
they look with curious eyes
they reign above us
they are on another level
they don't need us
but we need them
they are our source of light
throughout the night
the moon is different
its lonely and distant
but they are not

what everyone loves
they are magic
they bring happiness
they have meaning
they have stories to tell
and our ears are wide open
waiting for them to acknowledge us
