When Lunch was done and everything was cleared, Kevin dragged me to his office to talk business.
He sat in a large leather desk chair, looking straight out of a movie.
You know, the ones that are all like: The chair spun and revealed the boss "You called?" He smirked, pulled out a gun, and BANG the dude is dead.
My butt found the nearest chair to the desk on the opposite side.
It felt like a job interview.... Well, one that if you mess up in, you are damned to death.
My eyes traveled the room.
The theme became apparent.
Black and white with a little bit of tan.
It just looked like the rest of the house, but this room was just smaller and seemed more decorated than the other rooms.
I maintained a neutral look as Kevin searched through his files and papers for what he was looking for.
Damn, this man isn't organized.
He pulled up a folder, holding it with victory.
Kevin dropped it back onto the desk to open it.
He looked up at me.
A gleam was in his eyes.
There was no telling whether it was a good thing or not.
"We need to pick a date."
My face morphed into the most confused one I could manage.
"For.... Um.... What?"
Kevin's face remained the same.
His face was strict and professional along with his voice.
But Kevin's eyes said something otherwise: Hope.
"Our Wedding." He said bluntly.
The emotion was gone from Kevin's face.
I blinked my eyes multiple times.
I tried to process his words.
"Excuse me.... What?"
I shook my head.
I tried to regain my focus.
"For a minute there, I thought you said Wedding."
My throat sent up an awkward laugh.
Kevin's serious face remained apparent.
"That's because I did." He answered, pulling out a few sheets of legal documents.
Kevin passed them to me.
I stared at them with wide eyes.
"This is a joke, right?"
I groaned.
"If so, it isn't funny."
"No. This isn't a joke. This is real."
He took a deep breath.
Kevin pulled out a pen.
"We have to decide a date and a venue. I was thinking a simple City Hall public official Wedding. A real one would take too long to plan."
He shrugged.
Kevin passed a few more papers my way.
"In a few days, I'll take you shopping for a dress and all that. I just want to get the legal things out of the way--"
I cut him off.
I dropped the papers back onto Kevin's messy desk.
I stood up.
"Hell, no."
"I mean, we can have a real Wedding but it has to be planned within this week--"
"I'm not marrying you." My voice cut Kevin off again.
"I'm going back to Florida to be with James and Miranda...."
And my daughter.
"And I am going to live my life how it was before you forced me here."
I nodded my head, telling him that I was serious.
Kevin's anger was easily seen as his face turned red.
He clenched the papers in his hand, beginning to crush them fully.
Kevin rose from his chair.
"You are going to marry me and that's final. I have spent years trying to find you and I'm not letting you go again. Do you hear me?!"
"No, I don't hear you. I will never say "I Do." I would rather die than stay here with you." I sneered.
I grabbed the forms he wanted me to sign.
I ripped the forms up.
I let the pieces fall to the floor.
"Never."
My eyes shot daggers into Kevin's.
If he wasn't already mad, he was now.
Kevin's frame stalked around his desk.
He grabbed my arm harshly.
"You'll marry me. One way or another." Kevin growled.
He dragged me by my arm out of his arm.
I winced under Kevin's hold as he pulled me up the two flights of stairs I could only assume are leading me to my room.
We finally reached the door.
He opened it.
Kevin shoved me inside before inevitably locking me in.
