KYLA HAD COMPLETELY LOCKEDin after her viral online comments had caused more drama then necessary. It was the lead-up to March Madness, and the Notre Dame guard was preparing for their ACC championship game against NC State later that night.
The Notre Dame team didn't have the luxury of a home final, but there was a strong belief within the group that they had the talent and determination to get it done and make it to the NCAA tournament.
Kyla styled her hair in her usual slicked-back bun, then touched up her makeup, finishing with a bit of mascara. Just as she was putting away her makeup, KK Bransford came rushing over as the girls arrived at Greensboro Coliseum.
"Ky baby!" KK called out, excitement evident in her voice.
"Hey Bransford..." Kyla winked before embracing the slightly younger sophomore. "You pumped?"
"Hell yeah," KK laughed as they entered the locker room, gearing up to take on the Wolfpack
The day before, in their dominant semi-final win against the Hokies, Kylee had gone down with a suspected torn ACL. The loss of their starting centre and more importantly teammate left the Notre Dame girls feeling slightly uneasy, but they were determined to push through.
Kyla had admittedly put an immense amount of pressure on herself leading up to the game. As important as winning as a team was, Kyla still remained focused on proving herself to her coaches, teammates, and the media.
"Lets go girls." Maddy yelled out, uplifting the energy as they prepared for one of the most important games in their collegiate careers.
