As the night wore on and the city slept beneath a blanket of stars, Lan Wangji bid Wei Wuxian farewell, his heart heavy with the weight of unspoken emotions. With a silent nod, he turned to leave, his footsteps echoing softly against the frost-covered pavement as he disappeared into the darkness.

Alone once more, Wei watched as Lan's figure receded into the distance, a pang of longing tugging at his heartstrings. Despite the warmth of the blankets and the comforting weight of the coins in his pocket, he couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that settled in the pit of his stomach.

With a heavy sigh, Wei wrapped the blankets tightly around his shoulders, the chill of the night air seeping through the thin fabric. Despite his own discomfort, he couldn't bear the thought of spending the night in relative warmth while others suffered in the bitter cold.

Determined to make a difference, Wei set out into the city once more, his steps purposeful and resolute. He knew of several homeless encampments scattered throughout the city, places where those less fortunate than himself sought refuge from the harsh realities of life on the streets.

As he walked, Wei encountered countless faces, each one bearing the weight of their own struggles and hardships. Some greeted him with wary smiles, while others cast suspicious glances in his direction, their trust hard-earned and easily broken.

Undeterred, Wei pressed on, his determination fueled by the memory of Lan's kindness and compassion. With each encounter, he reached into his pocket and withdrew a handful of coins, offering them to those in need with a gentle smile and a reassuring nod.

But it wasn't just coins that Wei offered; he also distributed the blankets Lan had purchased earlier, wrapping them around shivering forms with careful hands and soothing words. Despite the biting cold and the exhaustion that threatened to consume him, Wei refused to rest until every last person had been given the help and support they deserved.

Hours passed in a blur as Wei traversed the city, his heart heavy with the weight of the suffering he witnessed. But with each act of kindness, each offering of warmth and comfort, he felt a sense of purpose wash over him, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there was still hope to be found.

Finally, as the first light of dawn began to paint the sky in shades of pink and gold, Wei returned to the alleyway where he had spent the night. Despite his exhaustion, there was a sense of contentment in his heart, a quiet satisfaction that came from knowing he had made a difference in the lives of those around him.

As he settled down beneath the blankets once more, the chill of the night air nipping at his skin, Wei couldn't help but reflect on the events of the past day. Despite the hardships he faced, despite the challenges that lay ahead, he knew one thing for certain:

He was okay. And as long as he had the strength to help those in need, he would continue to do so, no matter the cost.

With that thought in mind, Wei closed his eyes and allowed sleep to claim him, his dreams filled with visions of a brighter tomorrow, where kindness and compassion reigned supreme and no one was left to suffer alone in the cold. The morning sun cast its golden rays over the tranquil grounds of the Cloud Recesses, bathing the pristine gardens in a warm, ethereal light. Inside one of the elegant pavilions, Lan Wangji sat in quiet contemplation, his thoughts consumed by memories of the previous day's encounter with Wei Wuxian.

As he sat, lost in thought, Lan's brother, Lan Xichen, entered the pavilion, his expression grave with concern. "Wangji," he began, his voice gentle yet tinged with urgency, "there's something we need to discuss."

Lan Wangji looked up, his eyes meeting his brother's with a silent question. Lan Xichen hesitated for a moment, his gaze flickering towards their uncle, Lan Qiren, who stood nearby, his expression stern and disapproving.
