13. Keggar Chaos

Briar's POV:

It's 7:00pm, and the girls and I are just finishing getting ready for the kegger. I glance in the mirror one last time, adjusting my white bandeau bikini top. Next to me, Sarah is adjusting her sage green triangle bikini top, while Kie ties the straps of her maroon asymmetrical bikini top.

"You guys look amazing," I say, smiling at my friends. "Thanks for getting me these matching shorts. It's such a cute idea."

Sarah grins. "Anything for you, girl! We're so excited to host this kegger for you, Briar."

Kie nods, putting on her last bracelet. "Yeah, it's going to be dope. You deserve it."

I turn around to look at the two girls witha. grateful grin. "You guys, I'm so thankful for everything. It means a lot to me that y'all are doing this."

Sarah steps forward, giving me a tight hug. "We're family, Briar. We're all proud of you. Especially working for my dad, Ward Cameron. That's huge."

Kie joins in the hug, adding, "You're going to slay that internship. You've got this."

I smile, feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement. "Thanks, guys. I hope so. I'm really nervous, but I'm ready to give it my all."

My phone buzzes with a notification from our group chat.

John B: 

We just got to the beach and are ab to fill up the keg. U girls can meet us here whenever.

I show the message to Sarah and Kie, who both nod.

"Perfect timing," Sarah says. "Shall we?"

"Let's go," Kie adds, grabbing her bag of twisted tea tallboys that we got for us to drink.

As we head out the door, I take a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. 

This night is going to be memorable, one way or another.

We pile into Sarah's car and start driving towards the beach. The radio is playing reggae and we all sing along, laughing and enjoying the ride.

When we arrive at the beach, the sun is just starting to set. We can see the keg in the distance, with John B, JJ, and Pope already setting things up.

"Look at them go," Sarah says, pointing. "They really pulled this together."

We walk over to the group, and John B waves us over. "Hey, ladies! Glad you could make it. Everything's almost ready."

JJ is busy fiddling with the keg, but he looks up and grins. "Hey, Briar. Ready to party?"

Pope gives me a smile and we do our handshake. "This is going to be fun."

I smile back at all of them. "Thanks so much for doing this, guys. You have no idea how much it means to me."

John B claps his hands together. "ALRIGHT, LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED! We've got the keg, we've got music, and we've got the best people, and we just need people to show up. What more do we need?"

Kie laughs, nudging him. "Maybe some food?"

JJ looks up, a piece of equipment in his hand. "Already taken care of. Got a cooler full of snacks over there."

"Perfect," Sarah says, giving JJ a thumbs up. "You guys thought of everything."

JJ suddenly gets a gleam in his eye. "You know what we should do before everyone shows up?" he says, grinning mischievously.

"Oh no," Sarah groans playfully. "What now, JJ?"

"We should all shotgun a beer! It's the perfect way to kick off the night!" JJ announces, already heading towards the cooler.
