Meeting You Again

Madelyn's POV

It's been a week since my senior graduation, which means summer has started. My parents think that we should go on vacation and honestly I hope we do because I'm so excited about traveling. I head off my bed and I open the door, then I walk downstairs to the dining room, where my parents are. I take a seat next to my brother, Damion.

"So are we going on vacation," I ask my parents.

"Yeah we are, but you need to start packing now cause the only available tickets for 5 people are for after tomorrow," my dad lets me know. 

"I need to start packing right now I can't wait," I say as I push my brown hair back!

"Yes Madelyn please do because you always take long and I want to be there as early as possible," my mom tells me.

"Yeah yeah I will, but did you mention 5 people."

"We are only 4 me, you, dad, and Damion," I ask.

"Well Damion is bringing his friend, I forgot the name, honey what was the name," my dad tells my mom.

My mom looks at my dad trying to think, "Oh I remember it, it was Mason, so Mason is coming with us."

For a second I lose my words.
This can't be happening. Besides the fact he's my brother's best friend he and I fucking dated. Well, it was secretly. It was amazing until I realized he was a fucking cheater, that asshole. No wonder my brother's friends are off-limits. I can't go

"Seriously mom, why are we letting a random stranger ruin our vacation it's supposed to be family time," I say, trying to convince them to change their minds.

My brother shoots me a glare, "He's not a random stranger, plus I had to beg him so much to come stop trying to ruin it."

My mom backs my brother up, "He's not a stranger, your brother and him have been friends since kids, you know him too. Plus if you're worried about family time don't be because he's a good boy I know."

A good boy? Is that what my mom thinks of him? Because that's absurd! I think to myself as I rub my green eyes.

"Mom I think I'll stay home for this vacation I'm actually really tired and I just ended school so I want to just chill," I say trying to convince her to let me stay.

I love vacations and traveling, but him being there is just awkward, a mood killer, and he's just a shitty person.

My dad joins the conversation, "But Madelyn you have been asking us to go on vacation for a month now."

"Yeah Madelyn, but either way you have no choice cause we already bought the tickets," my mom says.

"But Madelyn it's fine you'll have your own room so you still can chill," my dad reassures me.

This is terrible. There's no way I'm going on a trip with him. Out of all his friends why him? I don't know what to do!

I try to convince my parents, "Well can't you cancel it?"

"Madelyn we can't," my mom says.

"Okay I'll just go to my room and start packing," I tell my parents.

"Enjoy and don't overpack," my mom lets me know.

I just give them a thumps up and then I head to my room to start packing.
