Madelyn's POV
I hold two of my baby pink luggage as I head to the taxi. This trip was supposed to fun, exciting, but no it's gonna be terrible because of Mason. I roll my eyes as I think of him. I can't even hang out with my brother if their gonna be together. I open the car truck and I put my two suitcases in.

As I tie my brown hair into a braid my mom comes to the car too, "Madelyn Rodriguez how much did you pack!"

"Mom it was just the essentials," I tell my mom knowing she won't believe me.

My mom sighs then grabs the other luggage's and puts them in the car. Then my brother stands next to me with his suitcases. He has 2 black suitcases. One is the same size as mine and the other is smaller. While on his back he has a dark blue backpack

"What is wrong with you too packing this much!"
"I mean I expected this from Madelyn but Damion you too," my mom says.

"Mom it's a vacation you need to relax," Damion tells our mom.

"Yeah mom it's fine, it's not even that much," I say.

"I am not dealing with this let's just go to the airport, your dad's already waiting inside the taxi," my mom says rushing us.

We all enter the taxi. Me, Damion, and my mom enter the back, while my dad sits in the passenger seat. I grab my AirPods and listen to some music as we wait to reach the airport.
Me and my brother actually look very similar, besides the fact he's a few years older than me. We both have brown hair and green eyes. We got it from our mom, well specially the eyes. The only difference is probably some parts of our facial features and his hair is slightly darker than mine.
Before I know it we're already at the airport. I take my navy blue long champ, which matches with my shirt and I exit the car. I put the bag onto my shoulders and help my parents at the truck. My brother has ran off somewhere so I now I need to take his luggage's oh my gosh.

"Madelyn hurry up Damion's friend is waiting for us," my mom and dad both tell me.

Shit I kind of forgot he's on our plane.

"Coming," I say not wanting to come.

I finally reach my parents.

"Okay Madelyn your gonna be sitting on seat 2D me and your mom are together and I've already told your brother about his seat," my dad tells me.

"Okay," I confirm.

After a long time of waiting and standing we finally make it to the plane.

I take my bag and I head to my seat. As luck would have it my seat is in the middle. But it's fine because I'll just be in the plane for 4 hours. I sit down in my seat as people rush to their seats. I grab my Airpods out of my bag and as I'm about to put them into my ear I see the person I was dreading to see. Unfortunately it's Mason.

Please don't sit here. Please don't sit here. Please don't sit here. Please don't sit here.

Oh my god. Mason starts to put his luggage above the seat, then he makes his way over to sit next to the window. Shockingly he is a lot taller than I thought. I didn't know you could still get taller at this age. That is so not fair. Being 5'4 is not fair. His fluffy brown hair fell over his forehead, almost covering his brown eyes but they didn't. I didn't look at him. His presence made the room tense and awkward. Soon a third guy came and sat beside me after he put his luggage above the seats.

The flight attendant came to our row and told us to fasten our seatbelts since the plane was about to start flying.

Its just 4 hours. 4 hours sitting next to my ex. 4 hours sitting next to that lying, cheating, scumbag, annoying idiot, ex.

"Hey," the other guy next to me started to speak.

"Hi," I say. I don't know who he is, what he wants but the guys seems nice. He looks at me with his dark brown eyes and black hair.

"So, why are you traveling here," he asks me.

"I am just here for vacation with my family, what about you," I ask him.

"Oh me too actually," he says.

"Then I'll probably see you around," I say with a smile on my face.

Before the random guy on sitting next to me replied Mason did, "Can you guys keep it down, I don't want to spend 4 hours hearing your boring conversation."

Oh my god. Who does he think he is to budge in my conversation

I open my mouth getting ready to fight with him but I don't have to because the guy does, "Look man what's your problem?"

"You're my problem," Mason says while pointing at him.

"We aren't even speaking that loud and you're getting mad for no reason," the guy says slightly raising his voice.

"Don't worry about him he probably forgot to take his meds," I say trying to end the situation.

He looks at me then says in disbelief while pointing at Mason, "You know this guy?"

"Yes she does know me so maybe you can bug off plus I don't need meds," Mason says interrupting me before I could even reply.

Before anything else could happen the fought attend comes by, "Hello, hope you guys are doing well I was just coming here to ask you guys to lower the voice."

We all give her a nod and she leaves then Mason whisper shouts, "Exactly dude I told you so."

The random dude just scoffs and looks away.

After the long 4 hours are over we finally reach. As we are walking off the plane me and the random guy, whom I just met, start to chit chat. at this point I don't even realize where Mason is or where he has gone.

"You should give me your number, and definitely name. We don't want another Cinderella story," the guys from the plane jokingly says to me as we walk.

I open my mouth to give him both my name and number until someone puts their hand firmly on my wrist.

"No time for small talk Madelyn your family is waiting for you," Mason says.

He drags me away from the guy, still holding my wrist.

I release my hand out of his grip, "Mason don't fucking touch me again."

"Im not a kid I can clearly walk on my own"

"Surely you're not a kid, but you definitely act like, clearly someone here needs to do something about it," Mason says in a harsh tone.

I immediately open my mouth to fight back but Mason does before me, "I mean seriously Mads is that seriously your type, what a downgrade."

He says that in a harsh tone. Just like the people who yell at you because you're dumb.

"First of all don't call me Mads, second of all anything from you is an upgrade," I say in anger as I push him away and head to my parents.
