I could not look away from her. Inky black hair against the arch of her back. I imagined running my fingers through it and braiding the strands, silky against my calloused skin. 

She surveyed the empty snow-covered forest. 

Her eyes, dark as charcoal, locked with mine. Despite the heat of her gaze, I could not break my stare. I could not look away. 

She squinted her eyes, drawing an arrow tightly. "Do you often stalk women in the forest?"
