Author's POV
Sebastian Williams, second son of a war veteran Barron, he grew up in a loving home, but when his mother died he began to stay away from people fearing that they too will die and leave him someday, he once fell in love with a young woman who reciprocated his feelings, however the young lady ultimately betrayed him for an older wealthier man, once again he closed himself off to those who could hurt him.
After seeing the way Blanche looked at Simon, he was reminded of the boiling dark pain and lonely feeling in which returned to him from all those years ago, reminding him of his past love that broke his heart, an image of a woman with a fan covering her lips and nose flashed in Sebastian's memories, almost like a cruel joke being played by the Gods above, Sebastian felt sick to his stomach, he does not wish to remember her cruel face and the cruel way she left him.
He entered his home and walked straight to his art room, suddenly remembering the sad look Blanche had when he left, Sebastian felt terrible for leaving abruptly, however he did not wish to involve the young lady with his own issues and turmoil, he thought of ways to make it up to her but he did not know what the young lady desired, he is nothing but a Baron, he has nothing to his name but his art, so perhaps a portrait of her would be enough if done with all his heart.
Still with a sad look on his face he sighed, wondering why he acted that way when he saw how much Blanche cared for Simon, his friend, he felt terrible for treating both of them in such an unkind way, all he could do now is find a way to apologize to both Simon and Blanche, while he thought of this he began painting a portrait for Blanche.
Later in the afternoon a knock disturbed Sebastian from painting, he stood up, stretched and walked to his door, he opened It and saw a smiling and cheerful Samuel, right then he saw a happy golden retriever in his friend, he gestured for him to get inside but Samuel refused.
"Oh my, you seem to have forgotten today my friend." Samuel said then Sebastian smacked his forehead remembering his promise to go drinking at the pub with him, he turned around and looked at his friend in a awkward way, "I apologize I did in fact forgot." Sebastian scratched the back of his head, right then Samuel laughed seeing smeared paint on his friend's forehead. "Well you cannot be seen in public looking like a colorful clown, so I suppose I should be going, you might want to look in the mirror soon hehe." Sebastian raised an eyebrow but did not have time to ask what his friend found so funny, he watched as Samuel entered his carriage and left for town he closed the door and just continued painting.
