As the sun filtered through the curtains at my window, casting a warm hue across the room, I found myself seated at my desk, the familiar weight of my notebook in my hands. Raaylan hovered nearby, his small form radiating a gentle energy as he observed me with curious eyes.

I picked up where I had left off, jotting down every detail of my first knight as a Miraculous holder as well as anything I could remember about the superheroes that I had seen.

"Whatever are you writing, Y/n?" he asked, floating closer to peer over my shoulder.

I hesitated for a moment, considering my response. Raaylan cared a lot about the secret of the Miraculous remaining...well, a secret.

Probably best not to tell him I was planning to publish an article. Hoping to, at least.

"Oh, just jotting down some thoughts for future reference."

Thankfully, Raaylan seemed to accept my answer without pressing any further, his attention drifting elsewhere as he floated away from my scribblings.

The distant cries from the street pulled me away from my desk, my ears perking up. I quickly set aside my notebook, rushing to the window to peer outside.

Down on the street below, a crowd had gathered, their voices rising in alarm and confusion. Without a moment's hesitation, I tucked my notebook beneath my arm and ran downstairs to grab a camera.

Something noteworthy had to be happening to cause such distress, right?

Joining the other reporters from both the Encanto Times and other newspaper businesses, I darted out onto the street, ready to scan the scene. I followed the crowd's eyes off into the distance to see what they might all be staring at.

My breath caught in my throat as I took in the sight that greeted me — a tangle of plants bursting from the roof of the Madrigal home, plants that were a stark contrast from the plants that Isabela usually made to decorate Casa Madrigal.

I raised my camera, capturing the scene with a series of rapid clicks.

"Oh, I knew it!" I heard someone exclaim from the growing crowd. "There's something very wrong with the Madrigal's miracle. Look at what it's doing to their home! To Isabela's gift!"

There were other speculations swirling around me, most of them agreeing with the person that I had heard.

"Do you think Alma can control the magic? What happens if their gifts go out of control and destroy that town? Then what!?"

"How could they let this happen? The Madrigals are supposed to protect us!"

"Are the Madrigals even safe anymore? Their gifts are dangerous!"

I couldn't help but voice my own thoughts aloud, a small spark of annoyance and defiance igniting.

"Maybe Isabela is just trying something new," I suggested, my words cutting through the murmurs of others. "I mean, wouldn't you get sick of the same flowers all the time?"

Before there was any time for someone to reply, the plants started to emerge all over town, on the roofs, on the streets, everywhere. As the foliage unfurled and spread with a ruthless determination, a wave of panic swept through the crowd.

Gasps of astonishment mingled with cries for help rose to the air. People stumbled and tripped over one another in a bid to get away from the out of control plants.

Turning on my heel, I spotted Mariano, Isabela's...well, I wasn't too sure at that point, standing nearby. His nose getting smacked right where it was already broken after a particularly forceful plant sprung up towards him. I couldn't help but wonder if that was on purpose on Isabela's part.
