Mia's POV
I sit up in bed and glance at the clock. 6:00 etched in red letters stares back at me. I am never awake this early. Ever. But, today is different. Today, Sam and I are finally meeting in person. We've waited three years and now we finally get to see each other in person.
"Hmm...I wonder if Sam's awake." I whisper to myself, grabbing my phone off of the nightstand.
It only rings once before the line picks up.
"Hey Sammy." I said with a smirk knowing that would piss her off.
"I'm going to punch you when I get there." She says.
I laugh and she joins in.
"When does your flight land again?" I ask, even though she's told me a thousand times, I just couldn't believe she was actually coming.
"One." She says, her voice full of excitement.
"Awesome. Are you packed?"
"Uh, yeah almost, will we be going swimming?" She asks.
"Your do know that your're coming to Florida right?" I smirk.
"Ugh, rude." She scoffs and I can't help but laugh. "Jerk." She mutters but I can tell that she's holding back a laugh.
"Sam!" I hear her mum call.
"Coming mom!" She yells. "I gotta go, we need to leave for the airport soon. I'll call you before we get on the plane, okay?" She asks. I hear her click the handle of her suitcase up.
"Okay, bye! Don't bring any knives or liquids over two ounces!" I call sarcastically.
"Wait, what? Damn it!" I hear her throw her suitcase back onto her bed.
"Wait, you were planning on bringing a knife?!"
"What the hell? No! I had a bottle of hand lotion that's six ounces."
"Oh, that's a relief."
"You think I would bring a knife to an airport? I'm scared of cutting myself when I unload the dishwasher." She scoffs.
"Yeah, good point." I shrug, even though she can't see me.
"Samantha Young! We're gonna be late!" Her mom calls again.
"Shit, I've really got to go. Talk to you later! Bye!"
"Bye!" I say.
I hear a click, signaling she ended the call.
"Well looks like I've got nine long-ass hours ahead of me." I pout. I look around my room and sigh. "Might as well get dressed."
I stand up and walk over to the dresser and pull my favorite pair of jeans out of the bottom drawer...
