Sam's POV

"But..." I try to reason with the guard.

"I'm sorry miss, no liquids over two ounces." He shrugs.

"Seriously? It's two and a half ounces!"

"I'm sorry miss but the rules are the rules."

"You don't even deserve my pomegranate hand sanitizer!" I scoff and angrily collect up my stuff.

I stomp to the the chair my mom is waiting in.

"He took my fucking hand sanitizer." I grumble.

"Well, you should have known that they were gonna take it! Didn't Mia warn you that they wouldn't let you take any liquids over two ounces?" She stands up and grabs her suitcase.

"Yes." I mutter.

"Exactly. Besides, I'm sure there's a bath and body works in Florida..."

"Last call for everyone boarding flight Y540L." A voice says over the intercom.

"Alright let's go before we miss the plane because you're pissed about your hand sanitizer." My mom says as she starts walking towards the gate.

I roll my eyes and follow her.

***

We get in the line of people waiting to board the plane a little before the gates open.

"I'm gonna call Mia." I tell my mom.

"Okay, don't go far, we're boarding any minute." She warns.

"Okay, it'll only be a few minutes."

I step out of the line and walk over to a bench with an add for Coca-Cola above it. I sit down on the bench and scroll through my contacts until I find the name Mia with a string of emojis next to it. It only rings twice before she picks up.

"Did your flight land early?" She immediately asks

"Um...no...we're boarding in a few minutes." I tell her

"Oh, damn it. I'm bored out of my mind." She whines.

"I'm not exactly having the time of my life either." I complain. "The fucking security check guy took my fucking hand sanitizer."

The little girl sitting next to me eyes go wide at my language.

"Oh, uh shit sorry...I mean uh..."

"Mommy!" The little girl yells.

"Nice." I hear Mia say as she suppresses a laugh.

"Fuck you." I grumble.

"Mommy!" The little girl calls again.

"I should probably go before I get in trouble with this kids mom." I tell Mia.

"Yeah, let me know how that goes." I hear her burst into a fit of laughter before I click the end call button and dash back over to my own mother.

"I wonder what that little girls screaming about." My mother wonders out loud

"Oh...uh...yeah...it's probably nothing..."

She shrugs her shoulders as the gate opens and the line starts moving to board the plane...
