"Are you sure that you want to spend time helping me today? I'll warn you, there's a lot of work and this bunch can be a pretty handful" Nathan warned me for the millionth time today.
"It's the only way I can repay you, Nathan. Plus, it'll help me take my mind off things you know?" I replied back, and Nathan took the hint. To be frank, Vivi's rejection took a toll on me, more than I'd like to admit. And keeping myself busy is going to be a great way to take my mind off her.
Nathan nodded and began whisking the egg batter. "Think you can take care of the toasts?"
I grinned, "Leave it to me" Soon enough, I started toasting the bread.
Nathan's friends were a chaotic bunch, to place it lightly. And my morning was strangely lively. Usually, I had quiet mornings by just scrolling my phone and eating breakfast. Followed by work at the diner. This was a strange experience for me.
For starters, Ace loved to pull pranks. His favorite target was, of course, the tired doctor, Law. And Law kept muttering, 'I'm too tired and old for this shit' as he chased the freckled raven hair around the house.
Then Zoro and Luffy loved to annoy Nathan a lot. Sneaking bits once in a while, as well as being loud, Nathan looks like he's on his last nerve. The duo has gotten at least 15 fists of love so far.
I lit up my cigarette and quietly began working on the toast while watching their antics. Surely there isn't a dull moment in this home.
"Sorry about them, Sanji kun. It's always the same" Nathan apologised, his eyes not drifting from the eggs. I just shrugged with a small smile on my face.
"Dont be. It's refreshing seeing people act this comfortable around me"
Nathan let out a small chuckle, "What you mean by like that? You are such an easygoing person. People immediately feel comfortable around you."
I chuckled in contrast, shaking my head, "That isn't true. Everyone acts all nice around me, mostly to use me. But you guys, don't care about that-" I was cut short by a pillow that was launched at me, followed by an apology by the smaller raven hair. The mosshead was laughing hysterically by the incident.
I try the pillow back at his face, shutting him up. This earned a laugh from Nathan. The mosshead's target also changed at the laugh. Before the pillow could hit Nathan, he caught it effortlessly and looked at me with a sigh. I chuckled. The poor man seems tired the first thing in the morning.
"Say Nathan, how about we go out after the breakfast? All 6 of us?" I asked. Nathan's ears perked up and he nodded, "Of course"
"THAT SOUNDS FUN!" Luffy chimed in.
"When are we going?" Ace asked, grinning.
"Where are we going?" Nathan asked.
"Do we have to go out?" the tired doctor asked.
"How long will we be out?" Ace asked,
"Will you buy me drinks, curly brows?" Zoro asked
"FOOD FOOD" Luffy chanted as he rushed to the kitchen for a quick bite. He got smacked by Nathan by the way.
"I need to shop for groceries as well." Nathan spoke from the kitchen.
Seems like this'll be a long day
