Maia Godoys POV

Upon arriving in front of the familiar building, I proceed towards the receptionist, who promptly provides me with new information. Now, it would be on the 28th floor, which was the top floor of the building.

I call the elevator while reflecting on the things Anna told me over the weekend. Let's just say she made me watch Camp Rock 1 and 2 at least four times and listen to all the Jonas Brothers albums until I knew at least 50% of everything by heart.

I didn't complain because I needed to know things like that since I'll have to sing the songs. They are very good, by the way. I had obviously heard "Sucker" before, but the older ones surprised me, especially "Can't Have You," which became my favorite.

After a while, the elevator arrives. I press the button for the top floor before looking at myself in the mirror. Was I overdressed? Or underdressed?

I run my hand over my black neckholder vest and then my linen trousers. A small leather bag hangs from my shoulder, golden accessories and black shoes complete my look. My hair, usually in a bun, was down today, and the slightly golden curls grazed my shoulders. I take a deep breath; I wasn't feeling very well.

"Everything will be fine..."- I whisper to myself, a reassurance only I could hear.

I didn't have any papers with me as I had taken what was necessary on the audition day. Would the Jonas Brothers be there? Would I have to perform for the entire team?! I hope I'm not the only new member. My restlessness was evident; my hands were sweating, and my leg couldn't stay still.

The doors open. Unlike the floor I had been on previously, this one was much more elegant and simple. It was a long hallway with one wall lined with large windows and the other with photos and awards. I distract myself by looking at the framed pictures on the wall, which, besides the Jonas Brothers, featured other influential people they had collaborated with. Stevie Wonder? Taylor Swift?! Wow.

I take slow steps until I reach the end of the hallway, observing every detail.
I start hearing voices coming from the other side of the door, and when I look up, I almost jump out of my skin seeing a man in a suit.

I put my hand over my heart as he apologizes and asks for my name. Where did he come from?! After responding, he mutters something into a small earpiece wrapped behind his neck and then opens the door. I thank him with a smile.

I feel my anxiety-ridden body gradually relax as I realize I've arrived early. The door closes, and the few people in the room turn their attention to me. I don't see any familiar faces except JinJoo's, who is already coming towards me. My savior. I offer her a grateful smile as she smiles back and lightly rests her hand on my shoulder.

"Well, folks, as some of you may know, this is the newest member of our band."-she points to me. I give a friendly smile and nod to everyone in the room. -"Maia Godoy, welcome to the team!"- I hear some "welcome" or "that's right" coming from various corners of the room during the applause.

JinJoo introduces me to each department of the team until we reach my future colleagues in the Backing Vocals department: Liv, Mark, and Kelly. They all seemed very close. They must have been working together for a long time.

"So, how are you feeling?"- Mark flashes a big smile at me as we shake hands.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. Sorry if you can feel my sweaty hands."- they laugh slightly at my remark, and Mark nods.

"Don't worry, the only thing harder about being a backing vocalist is sharing the same bus bathroom with these two"- he jokes, pointing to Liv and Kelly while scrunching his nose. I try to hold back my laughter, but it gets the best of me when I see JinJoo's expression.
