Sebastian Sallow

Still nothing.

His fingertips drummed on the top of his desk as he glared at the files on it. All this waiting was infuriating. Podex had taken quite the hit, losing as many as he did, including Hawke, and that seemed to have driven him deeper underground. No matter where Sebastian had searched, there wasn't a hint of any of the bastards in the black robes.

Eventually, the ministry had told him to back off – officially this time, and he was still livid. When Ominis had told Tessa and him that they were expected back at work, he'd expected some type of new information but no.

Nothing.

A quick rap on the door to his office had his eyes snapping up to see Reginald Newlan and Sebastian had to fight the sneer from taking over his expression.

"What."

"You and Tessa have an assignment." The man said, and Sebastian scoffed before looking back down, closing the file on his desk. Everything about Podex, and the file was so thin it was fucking... illogical almost. How can a file be so small on someone who worked for the bloody ministry?! Sebastian's file was huge.

"Sallow?"

"What?" He snapped, then winced, remembering what Reggie had said. "An assignment. Where?"

"France-"

"No."

"You can't just refuse assignments, Sallow."

"I just fucking did, Newlan." He snarled. "Unless you can promise my daughter's safety, I'm not leaving the bloody country."

Newlan shrugged. "Fine. I'll go over your head then."

"Be my guest." Sebastian muttered as Reggie left the room. The person over Sebastian's head didn't concern him either. It still didn't when that person came to his office not even an hour later, looking disgruntled. But Ominis always looked like that.

"You can't keep refusing assignments."

"I won't. Once Charlie, Levi, and Theo are all safe, I'll take all the assignments, from all over the world." Sebastian told him, for what felt like the hundredth time. "Why is there not any more information on Podex?"

"Sebastian, please don't change the subject. What does Tessa say about this?"

"Go ask her yourself."

Tessa's office was clear across the building. Something he hated, but something Tessa had mentioned would help him focus better. And he hated how accurate that was.

Ominis made no move away from the doorway. He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to find the patience he always seemed to be missing when Sebastian was involved.

"Why do you have Podex's file?" Ominis finally asked, dropping his hand back to his side.

"How'd you know I had it?"

"You literally just asked why there isn't more information on him."

"That doesn't mean I have the file."

"Sebastian," Ominis snapped.

Sebastian looked up to glare at his friend but saw Tessa in the doorway with her eyebrows raised. Sebastian immediately straightened his posture.

"Am I interrupting?" She asked and Sebastian shook his head quickly.

"Can you please tell your husband he has to go to work," Ominis said, his hand gesturing towards Sebastian's general direction. Every time Ominis accurately pinpointed Sebastian's whereabouts, it made him want to childishly move somewhere else.
