A New Era

It was a bright sunny morning. The sun's rays shone through the window, waking up an energetic pup. "Yay, it's morning!" The pup squealed with excitement "Do you have to say that every time Skye?" A voice said. "Of course, big brother, when da sun is up, so is me and also da kookaburras", she said, giggling. "Where in the City Skye there isn't any", he said tiredly to her "Don't be silly, big brother, of course da are", she said, giggling still as she made a kookaburra sound. He gave a small tired smile as he tried going back to sleep. Skye then suddenly got on top of him with her face inches from his he was surprised as he tried to hide his blush. "Whatcha doing?" He said softly. She then bopped his nose with hers as she let out a giggle. He smiled at her as he wrapped his arms, holding her tightly. She kept giggling as she bopped his nose again. "Is this your way of making me get up?" He said suspiciously but with a soft smile. "Maybe," she said, giggling. "Is it working?" She added. "No,", he said smiling. She then pouted her lips together as she tried to get off him. She slipped and landed on the floor with a thud "Oofy,", she said softly. "You ok?" He asked her. "Yes, me otay me wanded on my bum," she said, giggling as she started bouncing on it. He just laughed as he got up and held his paw out to her she then put her paw in his as he helped her up. "Yay, you up!" She said with a giggle. "Only because you fell on the floor," he said smiling at her. "Come on, wet's have bwekkie me want to have some poppy tarts before big sis Wubbie eats dem all," she said, giggling. "She won't. We have a whole cupboard full of them", he said, smiling. Skye grabbed his paw and ran towards the kitchen she then sat down as she waited for him to get her some. "You know you can get them yourself right?" He said to her. "No, me can't me too short to weach," she said, looking at him. He then smiled as he picked her up and held her to where the pop-tarts were. "Now you can", he said, smiling still, as she then giggled excitedly, picking the box up and shaking it. He put her down as she put her paw into it, picked one out, and popped it into her mouth. Suddenly, a girl wearing yellow pyjamas runs towards the dining room, excitedly sniffing the air. "I smell pop-tarts," she said as she saw Skye holding the box. "Hey, Rubbie," He said, smiling at her. "Hey, big brother", she said, smiling back. "I need bickies", she then added excitedly. "No, my bickies", Skye said, clutching the box to her chest. "Skye, give Rubbie some. We've got plenty", he said to her. "But there mine", she said, looking at him with puppy dog eyes. He didn't say anything only gave her a look that she had to share. Skye sighed softly as she held the box out to her. "Yay, bickies!!!! "Rubbie yelled excitedly as she put her paw in the box, grabbed one, and popped it in her mouth. Chase smiled at her as Skye stuck her tongue out. "I saw that Skye," he said with a smirk. Skye put her head down slightly as she sat there quietly. Soon, two more girls came running down the stairs, one more excited than the other. "Mmm, I smell pancakes," the girl in the red pyjamas said. "Hey Marsha, hey Roxky," he said smiling at them. "And yes, they are freshly made" he smiled still. Both of them sat at the table and ate their brekkie. Once everyone finished they got dressed, grabbed their bags and headed towards the car. "Big brother, big brother, can we wisten to Da Jiggles?" Skye asked excitedly. "No way, let's listen to Tate Swirl", Marsha said smiling. "No, Elva, big brother", Rubbie said to him smiling. "I wanna listen to Winner, Baby while Big Brother sings Ange Versus", Roxky said with a smile. "Nice try their both girls", he said, smirking. "Oh yes, and me can sing, Huslie", Skye said, giggling. "Still not making me gay," he said smiling. They all just rolled their eyes at him as they got inside the car. "Ok, for that, well, listen to my music", he said, smiling as he started the car up, putting the music on. The others groaned hearing it. "Aw come on big brother this music sucks" Marsha said groaning "Don't say dat big sis Marsha, you'll hurt his feelings" Skye said to her "It's fine Skye, she didn't and I'm not changing it for what you four did" he said smiling as he drove them all to school. Suddenly, Skye let out a loud shriek "Big brother, big brother, we have to go back. Me forgot my plushie", she said to him frantically. "Skye, we can't. We're nearly there,", he said to her. "Oh please big brother me need him" She said sadly as tears started forming in her eyes. "I'm sorry Skye, we can't I'm sure you'll be fine without it" he said to her as he continued to drive. Skye was gonna press him more but decided not to she instead just sat there and hoped the day would end. Once they all arrived, everyone got out grabbed their bags from the boot, and went inside. Suddenly a ginger white striped cat spotted the siblings and walked up to them. "Hey there, you lot long time no see? " the cat said smiling. "Hey Wila, you got a bickie?" Rubbie asked as her tail wagged. "You just had some before we left Rubbs," he said to her. Wila laughed "You're funny, Chase, but no, I don't; sorry, Rubbie", she added. The others were confused about why she thought that was funny. "So, how's everything with you Wila?" Chase asked her, "Oh great, just fixed up my bike, so when you're not busy, maybe you could come for a test ride?" She said smirking at him. Skye and Marsha silently gagged while Roxky smacked their arms gently. "Oh, sure sounds good", he said smiling "Ok, great, how does Saturday work for ya?" She asked him. "Yep, all good", he said smiling. "But big brafa, we were gonna go to the park together on Saturday", Skye said, looking at him sadly. "We can still go to the park and test out the bike", he said, ruffling the fur on her head and smiling. Skye let out a giggle when he did that but she wasn't sure about him helping her. Wila soon left as the siblings walked towards their lockers. "You may as well root her big brother," Marsha said to him smirking. He rolled his eyes. "Not this again, Marsh", he said, getting a bit annoyed. "For once, I agree with Marsha; I mean, Wila has been chasing you and just asked you out on a date,", Roxky said as she reached her locker and put her stuff in it. "So? Lots of girls chase me why do you think my name is Chase?" He said with a smirk. The sisters rolled their eyes at the horrible joke. "Plus, it's not a date if you four are coming," he said with a smile putting his stuff away. "No offence, big brother, but when it comes to girls flirting, you suck realizing they are," Roxky said to him. "Ok," Chase said, smiling still. Roxky just sighed thinking it was pointless explaining. Soon the siblings said their byes as they went to class.
Later in class when the teacher finished handing out the assignments. Skye couldn't concentrate she stared at it intently as her heart beat faster and her breathing quickened. She then gripped her skirt tightly and jiggled her leg furiously. She then suddenly got up. As it became too much, she headed towards the door when the teacher said, "Skye, please, go back to your seat". She didn't answer. "Skye, now," he said. "Go fuck yourself," she said angrily as she left the room. Later, while sitting at the table eating his lunch, Chase wondered where his sisters could be. He kept looking around to see if they come but didn't. Suddenly, a brown Labrador came up to him. "Hello, Chase, how are you doing?" She asked, smiling. "Oh, hello, Zula; I'm fine, just waiting for my sisters", he replied. "Oh, I know where Woxky is. She's in the pwincipal office," she said to him. Chase just looked at her like it was some stupid arse joke till he saw she wasn't kidding. He quickly got u,p and headed straight there. Once there he got a bigger shock when he saw all his sisters coming out of the office. "Ok, one of you start explaining why all four of you are here?" he asked, looking at them with concern. "Me swored at da teacher," Skye said. "I clobbered, a girl," Roxky said. "I stole some guy's food", Rubbie said. "I got kicked out cuz I got the answers right," Marsha said smiling at him. Chase just looked at them trying not to show his anger. "Oh, by the way, big brother, I got suspended for a week," Roxky said calmly. "So did me," Skye said, looking at him. "I got three days suspension", Rubbie said. "I got two days," Marsha said, smiling, still. "Ok, seriously, how does this happen? The school year has barely started, and you lot got suspended on the first fucking day," he said angrily. "It was an accident, big brother me-" she got cut off when Chase held up his paw. "Save it, I'll deal with you all later," he said to them. Once school was finished all the siblings got in the car while Chase drove them home. No one said a word as the air was thick with tension while outside, the sky rumbled as it started spitting rain. Once home, all the sisters went inside and headed towards their room when Chase called out to them. "All four of you in the living room, we need to talk". The sisters looked at each other as they walked towards it. They sat down on the couch as Chase looked at them. "I'm very disappointed in all four of you", he said, crossing his arms. "We're sorry, big brother, but I told you I need my plushie; otherwise, I can't think straight. He keeps me calm", Skye said to him. "I just wanted a bickie", Rubbie said. "How was I supposed to know I'd get kicked out and suspended?" She added. Chase tried to stay calm as he waited for the other two to explain their side but was finding it difficult. "To be honest, I'm not sure why I got kicked or suspended. All I did was make a few jokes while still getting the answers right", Marsha said, annoyed. "That bitch deserved it. She wouldn't stop hitting on me and calling me a bloody lezzo when I fucking ain't,", Roxky said angrily. Everyone looked at her. "So you were harassed?" Chase asked, trying not to show his anger. "Pretty much I kept telling her to rack off, but she wouldn't, so I punched her", Roxky said angrily still. "Ok, I understand where your coming from but you didn't need to hit her", Chase said as his anger softened a bit. "Same with you, Marsh. It's fine to joke around as long as you're not disrupting anyone and doing the work,", he said to her. Marsha nodded smiling. "As for you two, you both grounded for a week", he said angrily to both Skye and Rubbie. Both of them looked at him about to object "Before you start Rubbs you know not to ask or accept anything from strangers, especially food and you Skye you know you could've done your work without your plushie you've done it before and you were fine" he said sternly at them. Skye and Rubbie were gonna press for more but cut of when Chase held his paw up "I need some time alone you four bed" he said rubbing his eyes annoyed. "Will you tuck me in and read me a bedtime story?" Skye asked. "I don't know" he said trailing off as he looked out the window which was pouring as the thunder rumbled loudly. The sisters started heading upstairs to bed as they saw Chase walk out the front door and into the storm. Skye immediately ran after him as the others followed. "Big brother, come back. It's dark and scary", Skye yelled. "No, it's not. Get back inside please", he said to them. "Not till you do the same", Marsha said, trying to plead with him. "I'm fine. I just need a minute", he said as the thunder roared with flashes of lightning. The sisters did what he asked and went back inside as Chase continued walking deeper into the storm. He kept waking thinking about everything that happened as the storm got heavier and stronger. Suddenly, a tree branch came flying past when someone pushed him out of the way as the branch just missed him. Chase was confused till he saw Skye. "Skye I thought I told, you to stay in the house??" He said angrily to her. "I tried, but I needed to know if you were ok, so I followed you", she said to him. Suddenly the others showed up panting heavily, which just angered him more. "You four gotta start listening to me otherwise-" he got cut off when the wind blew stronger, and the thunder got louder as flashes of lightning lit up the dark sky. Suddenly, all five of the siblings got hit with the lightning bolt as well as some powerlines sending them flying, knocking the siblings out.
