NARRATOR
"Welcome back, lady Leala!" Alice said as she quickly approached. Leala was placed down on her feet by Flaudian who had carried her all the way to the palace out of sight.
The entire journey here was quiet but somewhat peaceful. All she could hear was his harsh breathing but even that was calming to her
"Alice, you look well," Leala said, smiling at her. "I feel stronger than ever.. thanks to you." She said. "Thanks to me? I-"
There was a loud thud from behind the two and they quickly turned around, looking down at the unconscious Flaudian on the floor. "Is he alright?!" Leala asked, quickly moving to his side.
She watched quietly as his scales slowly disappeared, his body beginning to shrink back to its original size, which wasn't that small. His monstrous form slowly fades away, bringing him back to his human form. "Amazing.." Leala whispered.
"He'll be fine. It's his first time in a while since he took on half of that form. It takes a lot out of him." Alice explained as a guard, larger in size lifted Flaudian and began to carry him away. "Be careful.." Leala said as she began to follow along with Alice.
"What exactly..is the king?" She asked, curious to know.
"I don't think it's smart if I say. I'm already on thin ice.." Alice said.
"That is alright... I understand. If it is okay with you, I'd like to be by his side to look after him until he's up again." Leala insisted and Alice looked at her slightly shocked. "Y-yes of course. Please do." She giggled, running off soon after.
She watched as they placed Flaudian onto the bed, leaving him there unconscious. As they left the room, Leala inhaled slightly, taking in the sweet scent of the room before looking over to the sleeping man. She slowly approached his bed, pulling the covers over his body slightly.
"It's been 3 weeks since we last saw each other... I just wish I knew what you were thinking." Leala whispered. She approached the large windows, trying her best to push them open slightly. "I almost began to forget about you.. but suddenly I can remember again and it aches right here." She placed her hand on her chest as she stared out of the window.
"The rivers are all filled again and.. the land has become more green than it was when I first left. Did you finally find someone to love? Have you finally gotten what you were looking for?" She asked, staring at the setting sun.
"I...I wanted to be the one..to help you, but you took that away from me before I-" Leala fell silent, slowly bringing her hands up to her face, wiping her falling tears.
"Why do I cry about this? Is it only now catching up to me? I could've died and you saved me..you took time out of your day to save me. I was weak and afraid to use this magic you've warned me about.." Leila slowly turned around to look at the sleeping king, but he was not asleep.
He was sat up, staring directly at her with his all-so-serious expression. Waking up to her speaking to herself but somewhat to him as well. He could almost call her insane.
"I never noticed before... how beautiful you are." Flaudian said, looking away for a split second. Leala stood there in shock as the wind blew slightly through her hair. "Thank you.." She closed the windows and made her way close to his bed.
